ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
I was inspired by bokkins post of the Stormbirds cinematic and was tempted to propose this. I figured out that instead of just thinking about it, we should do something about it para at least things would move forward... so here is my suggestion

Lets create a new thread that will hold the community project which is an animated short which will run at least 30 seconds to 3 minutes nothing more. This is how I planned it will go.

1. Create the thread
2. Start the thread with suggestions for the theme, a theme that is simple and nothing fancy, no story needed just pure visualization and effects. (we don't want it looking like an arki presentation right?) This will run for I don't know 1-2 months? Or until we agree on the theme.
3. create the concept art, everyone, all ideas na related sa theme are ok. after which we will vote for the best concepts to create into models and environments.
4. Pre-visualization and rough animatics para makikita ng lahat kung ano ang mangyayari and all will have an idea what to do.
5. Modelling and creation of the "hero" elements to be assigned to individuals na gustong gumawa.
6. Rough compositing for semi final visualization
7. Finalization of models and environments and effects
8. Final Compositing
9. Creating a movie
10. Celebration for work done!

This will be done without deadlines and at your own pace and by any member na willing. We can all individually contribute any element and tulungan pa tayo in producing a film that will give us hands on production experience at the same time enjoy pa! This will also bring discipline to newbies in the industry and help them maintain overall quality in their work.

So kailngan lng dito ay simulan na at commitment. Thats it !

Hi, mmmmmmm now I feel blank... wow this is hard ok here are my suggestions...

1. A world war 2 arial assault scene, something like a small base preparing for war with shots of incoming enemy planes... for the first 30 seconds hero shots lng walang putukan muna, all establishing and camera moves.

2. The factory, this will be a shot inspired the squatters sa pinas. It will be a shot that would look like a start of a film, like an intro. In 30 seconds we can show old slum houses and in the back is a huge factory that looks really old yet gigantic...

Medyo mahirap nga ah.. o_o
Mali pala yung cinomment ko. Dapat pala kung mag susuggest medyo specific and more detailed parang kay sir Eyecon. Kasi parang masmahirap pa magcreate ng story sa iisang adjective na sinuggest. xD Kahit simple explanation lang,then ishare mo yung ideas mo (storywise) tungkol doon sa theme na napili mo.

Ok so I'll start again.

Theme: Horror
Ito kasi yung genre na para sakin na parang pinakamadali magconnect sa audience. Maganda pa kung dinaan sa magagandang cinematic shots, and magandang sound design! Then dito rin natin matetest yung skills natin sa CG kasi syempre dapat moody yung look ng film, so parang gritty/rugged style yung naiisip ko. As for the antagonist, I'm not thinking of an ordinary ghost/monster. Iniisip ko dapat mas surreal. Maybe something na present satin everyday, or maybe a more conventional one like mag-eencircle yung story sa isang 'urgan legend' etc.

Also, I wouldn't settle for a simple story. I mean, ok lang siguro kung simple, pero unforgettable dapat yung impact sa audience. Ang dami kong napanood recently na 3Dshort films (mostly french pa nga. ang gagaling nila sobra O_O) at woW!!! Panalo ang story! Kahit hindi pa ganun ka top-notch ang visuals bumawi naman ng sobra sobra sa story. Mapapaisip ka talaga sa end eh..."paano nila naisip yun..."

Hey guys, I love the suggestions so far... as for the story, I'm aiming 30 seconds lng muna with a maximum of 2 scenes, lets take it one step at a time, any establishing shot of any idea you may have, from there we can make a story.

What we are aiming now is to output a 30 second movie without any deep thinking, just a simple plot then we will work from when we achieve it. The samples are amazing so we can base out collaborative work there...

Okay bokkins has unofficially declared that the theme will be horror... does anyone second the motion?

If anyone seconds the motion then we will start doing the concept works and the elements needed.

Remember 30 seconds lng muna aim natin, finish the 30 seconds and if magugustohan nating mag continue then well go on and do the next 3 secondsn and so on and so forth, that way we can limit the work done and maximize the output.

very interesting... can you perhaps elaborate? like describe a certain scene, medyo specific para when your idea is chosen pwede tayong gumawa kaagad ng concept artworks...

Hmmm...shall we go for that style? I was thinking something different (a much more cinematic theme) but if you guys like this kind of style sir jenaro's suggesting, ok lang sakin. Iniisip ko kasi itong project na 'to ay para mashowcase yung galing natin sa CG, eh what better theme para ishowcase, dapat cinematic ang dating diba, hehehe.

And also by life stories do you mean each of us members? Mukhang mahihirapan tayo niyan sa pag character creation kung iccreate lahat ng nagparticipate? Or were you thinking documentary style na pictures natin?
And also keep in mind that we have to do all of this in just (approx.) 30 secs like sir eyecon said...Seems hard to conceive but if you already have an idea of how it should go, I'm all ears.

Dapat yung concept natin accessible sa lahat ng manonood nitong project...at hindi yung tayo lang nakakaappreciate.
