For the special attention of Sir Edosayla, WIP ko po with 3ds max mental ray... been trying mental ray after seeing your tutorials and other more useful infos by others like Sir Logikpixel... MAbuhay po kayong lahat.

Kailangan ko po ng comments and advices nyo dito s ginagawa ko. This is a WIP 3d for design requirement, Iam trying my best to work it out in 3d. I hope I am posting on the right forum.

Here goes:

VIEW A_1 (RAW MENTALRAY RENDER OUTPUT) need advices on materials, lighting, etc...
BEGINNER'S INTERIOR SCENE_MENTAL RAY RENDER_WIP DIRECTORS_OFFICERENDER_300_VIEW_-2
VIEW A_2 (PHOTOSHOP ENHANCEMENT) adjusted image hue/sat, lighting effects/highlights, dof/bluring, etc...

VIEW B_1 (RAW MENTALRAY RENDER OUTPUT) need advices on materials, lighting, etc...

Wow Sir kakatuwa naman yang special mention .. thanks po ulit sir .. regarding naman sa WIP mo .. its a good start , comments ko lang ..

Modeling : Kailang mag practice ka ng scaling at proportion, at add ka smoothness sa mga bagay na namodel mo, turbosmooth or meshsmooth will do.

Material : try to make it simple and control your glossiness
Mapping : as much as possible yung proportion ng material mo near realistic try to make it proportions.

Lighting : overall ok naman sya , try mo taasan samples mo sa light and play along with them lang para mawala ang mga noise, meron you portion dyan na super bright ang light try to control it para wag naman super bright ang dating.

Rendering : once ma finalize mo na try mo render sa malaking resolution para mas may dating .. at ang image precession mo taasan mo din pag sa final na .

Hope naka help .. thanks ulit sa pag aaral at sana wag u mag sawa mag practice everyday..

Sir, thank you so much talaga!!! Sobra thankful po ko ngreply kyo. Salamat po s mga tips, mkakatulong lahat ito.
Questions ko po:

1. Yun raw MR render ko po mapapansin nyo, di realistic? What do you guys do to make it more alive? May kinalaman po ba ito s softness and objects? Sobra gusto ko po malaman how to make it work...
2. Any tips on values para s glossiness? Kasi po dyan s gawa ko, ngbawas ako ng gloss-0.5 to 0.75, ano po yun effective? Ganun din po s reflections, any specific values para maging tama lang?

3. Yun green material ko po, dating transparent glass, I tried to work with caustics pero ganyan po ang lumabas...

cge sir gawan kita tutorial w8 mo lng ha ... pwede ko sundun ang models mo? para may idea ka kung ano ang work around sa scene mo .. to add realism . gagayahin ko lng yung scene mo .. bka bukas upload ko lng ang video .. thanks ulit ..

Kung gumagamit ka ng Photometric lights at mr photographic exposure adjust mo yung exposure. Pumili ka sa mga presets like Physically based lighting,Indoor daylight (for interiors). To add depth at maiwasan ang lumulutang na objects sa scene, maglagay ka ng Ambient Occlusion sa Materials mo.

2. Any tips on values para s glossiness? Kasi po dyan s gawa ko, ngbawas ako ng gloss-0.5 to 0.75, ano po yun effective? Ganun din po s reflections, any specific values para maging tama lang?

Check mo dito sa post ko http://www.cgpinoy.org/architectural-f3/my-mental-ray-render-t5491.htm. The higher the glossy samples, the less yung noise ng reflections.

Use the Arch & Design preset materials. May glass preset dun na transparent. Sa scene mo use the Glass (Solid Geometry). Use caustics on a case to case basis.

For your tips Sir logikpixel:

1. Kuha ko n po yun sample value for glossy reflection... I'll surely apply this po!

2. Yun pong MR photographic exposure, di ko po masyado matandaan, but I'll sure to look into it. Malamang isa po ito sa mga missed out ko...

3. ambient occlusion, noted po.

4. Yun sa color glass po, I intend to put caustics effect like the one done by Jennifer O'connor, yun pong mga color glasses with nice caustic effects, kaya lang kasi sabi nya s Part4 p nya ituturo, hehe... baka po my tips kyo... I've seen your caustics tests with water, ganda po... pano po ba yun?

Alam ko lng po, icheck/enable yun caustic effects for all objects s render setup, pero di ko po makuha yun s material editor e..

Balak ko n po mgpost ng update nito renders ko, medyo may improvement n po e, in terms of realistic effect, with your help with sir edosayla, but I'm still waiting for more tips from you guys and the rest of our MR masters and also not to forget sir edosayla's tutorial for me...

Nasa Environment yun. Press 8 sa keyboard(shortcut)

3. ambient occlusion, noted po.

4. Check mo ulit sa tutorials. May kailangan ka na Enable sa Object Property nung glass/metal/mirror mo under sa Mental ray. I-check mo ulit sa tutorial nung caustics. But like what I said, use caustics only when you really need to.Smile
