Depth Of Field
Here is something more simple.
You don't have to use any external software to make close-up shots because
Mental ray has it's own depth of field camera effect.
A bit of disclaimer: Using this technique will increase your rendering time.
1. Select your camera. Make sure to choose a target.
2. Under Modify tab, enable Multi-Pass Effect.
Choose Depth of field (mental ray).
3. On the Depth of Field Parameters is where you can tweak the f-Stop.
The f-stop controls the virtual aperture of the camera.
4. Note that you need to have a properly scaled scene. But in case not, mental ray allows you to use values lower than 1.0.
That's it!
Change your Sampling Quality on the Render Setup dialog box to achieve a smooth output.

Thanks sir sa tutorials ... meron din isang way na mas ma bilis yan yung pag render ng zdepth.. medyo matagal kasi mag render ng DOF sa mentalray ... isa pang way is yung secret lens shader ng mental ray abangan nyo po yan

Parang kailangan ko yata mag-research tungkol dyan..hmmm...
By the way sir, asan na po yung mga kasunod na tutorials mo? Hindi po ba 12 lectures yun all in all? Or nag-shift na kayo sa V-ray?
Thanks sa support at keep helping us in these forums! Cheers!

Re: Depth Of Field
Ayus nga sir. May drawback nga lang, kasi it's sure to make your render time much longer. But the results are awesome!
