nakikita ko po lagi sa cgsociety yung term na ambient occlusion.. ano po gamit nun tska pano po gumawa sa max??? thanks in advance!

sa vray they call it vraydirt!!! hehehe!!! wait natin ung mga masters na expert sa "AO". mas mapapakahulugan nila ng mabuti yun! hehehe!

sir v thanks po, follow up lng po bale pag stills po ung override na vray material wid vray dirt sa fiffuse, kaso pag di nako dadaan sa ps pwede rin po ung standard with diffuse na vray dirt? try ko po pagexperimentan muna tapos post ko po yung output dito para macheck nyo po! thanks! Very Happy

Ibig sabihin pwede mo naman directly isama na sa render yung dirt liek I mentioned above. One more way is to check Detail Enhancement in the Vray:Irradiance map rollout. And in the recent versions, You can now compute and add AO via the Vray:Indirect Illumination (GI) parameters list.

pwede bro. with that, magagamit mo sya sa animation. lagay mo lang sa diffuse. pwede mo pangblend sa existing material mo. good luck! Smile

thanks sir bokks and sir v i think i got it.. i'll post the output here later but what i did was i created a vray material using a mask diffuse as sir v said.. then applied the properties i wanted such as some reflect and bump maps! thanks sir! 2thumbsup

@ralph_soriano: i dont hindi gaano mahahalata ang ao pass mo d2 kasi bump map lng gamit mo try mo po i model talga yung cube dont use bump map.. as of now parang walang dirt pass dun sa 1st render mo.
for me ang ao or dirt pass is parang faster version lng ng details enhancement.. effective to pag maraming spaces or mga seam kasi lalo ma dedefine yung model mo,

hindi ko lng sure kung gumagana ang dirt pass sa bump map.. by the way sa rc3 built ng yung ao pass sa irradiance map roll out..

AO will work only on the crevices of your models - so you have to model them. It won't work on bumps.

@ sir v: yung vray mat po linagyan ko ng mask sa diffuse tapos matl map po sa diffuse tapos vraydirtmap sa mask.. tama po ba yun?

medyo nakayug ang utak ko sa paliwanag mo. pakipost ng capture ng mat comp mo.

Usually kung babasahin mo yung sinabi ko kanina - pwede mo nang ilagay diretso sa vraydirt ang map mo. Dun sa unoccluded slot and normal diffuse map. Sa occluded slot naman ang darkened version ng regular map o leave it flat black kung gusto mo.

Pwede rin naman na mask map - using dark and regular versions of the diffuse map na gusto mo, and vray dirt as a mask. Pareho din yun.

ayun sir kuha na po nagkamali po pala ako dapat pala vraymatl tapos vray dirt sa diffuse tapos yung material map sa unoccluded color lng ilalagay.. yung ginawa ko po kanina pati sa occluded kaya po ata nawala?? eto po yung output.. thanks po sa time sir v!

in Mental ray, you can assign an AO pass as either a material overide, or customizing it as seperate multiple materials. Does vray work the same way?

Actually stryker - I would still suggest doing it in a separate pass for more control.

Isa pa, AO was meant to substitute for Global Illumination - while it doesn't have the secondary bounce of GI passes - sometimes pwede na ring makalusot.
