Creating Cornice with Bevel Profile Modifier

Hi guys, I've prepared a very simple tutorial on how to create cornices for our interiors and exteriors. The process can also be used in creating picture frames, door and window jambs and other elements that use moldings. This is more powerful than your simple extrude modifier. We will be using the bevel profile modifier. Hope you like it.



Before we start. And since we are dealing with profiles, here are some sites that are good references of cornice profiles courtesy of www.google.com:

Good thing about this is that when you edit your cornice profile, the whole thing follows. So you don't have to worry if you miss some details on your cornice. Good luck!

You can also do this.

sir bokks. sana gawa ka rin ng tuts sa easy way na pag model ng carving. hehehe hindi ko kasi kaya sa max.

wow ganun lang pala kadali? dati ko pang ginagawa e extrude ko muna ung line, tapos path deform pa, minsan hirap pa akong iadjust kasi naiiba ung shape nya kelangan ko pang i rotate...

tanong ko lang din po, tinry po po eto, at nung nagawa ko na po yung cornice parang naiba po yung size nya, lumaki po sya kesa dun sa ginawa kong line (line01) sa tutorial...

baka nascale mo bro bago naapply. try mo gawa ulit from scratch. or dapat apply mo muna, then modify mo ung profile after. good luck!

In line with cornices and anything that you'd like to loft or shape out of the edges of your objects, you can also use the beveling option of the Shell Mod (using a profile spline of course)

Di ko nantindihan ang tanong mo. What do you mean exactly. Pwede ang lathe (not for beveling siempre) sa kahit anong object basta may edges.

Di ko nantindihan ang tanong mo. What do you mean exactly. Pwede ang lathe (not for beveling siempre) sa kahit anong object basta may edges.

imean sir objects like, model a POT. i saw sa isang tutorials site. they use lathe modefier. parang my pivot point cya.

Yes as long as you have a spline profile, lathe will use that to make a surface going a circular (in degrees) pattern from a point. Check the tutorials or the help file otherwise we'll go OT.

naiisip ko kasing way ay gumawa ng cylinder tapos hati hatiin tapos extrude..
baka may ibang way na parang loft lang din....

Same process, profile na gamitin mo is rectangle. Same size sa section ng wall mo.
