3ds max scanline renderer with skylight and light tracer
Here's a simple tutorial using scanline renderer with skylight and light tracer.
The process is, you model either in max or sketchup, apply standard materials in max, use a standard camera, a directional light to mimic the sun. If you hit render, the output is not the way we like it.
The extra here is to use a skylight as an additional ,lighting. With skylight alone, the render will improve, but you will notice that the underside is not rendered well. That's where the light tracer will play that role.
In advance renderer tab, select light tracer, under bounces, select 1. This means that all your light will bounce once. That's enough to simulate global illumination or GI.
That's it. Same concept vray and other renderers are using.
This process is best for exteriors and concept presentation renders.
Hope you like it.
