Senior designers (Architecture).. Seeking your opinion/ advice.
Senior designers (Architecture).. Seeking your opinion/ advice.
Hi cgpinoy:
[To Admin: Not sure if this is the right section to post my question, wala kasi akong makita sa career "advice" section, kaya dito ko nalang sa tambayan muna i post.. paki lipat nalang po kung nagkamali man. ]
More than 5 years narin ako abroad, Middle east then Asia, in an entry level/ junior position sa Architecture, now sa landscape firm. One thing that I can boast: nakakabilib ang husay ng mga fellow Filipino senior designer na na-meet ko, whether in Middle east and Asia. Pang- world class, period! . Sayang, di ko sila na-interview about their career path since about work lang interactions most of the time. Kaya dito muna ako magstart ng survey.
Ano po basic suggestion niyo to be in a designer position? I was once informed that strong & solid background working sa Architecture firm helps a lot, pero para sa mga kagaya ko na nalihis ng landas dahil sa hirap ng opportunities hehe..
Okay lang ba magkaroon ng mixed experience sa other fields? In my case as an example: Architecture firm+Landscape firm+ now may chance sa Interior design firm.. Hindi ba ako lalong maliligaw at malalayo sa architecture?
To simplify my question, mas okay na foundation ba ang working solidly with an Architecture firm (entry level CAD, and going up to senior levels) or yung mixed field like Archi+Landscape+Interior+Contractor+then balik sa Architecture firm to be a designer.
Thanks for sharing your opinions.. God bless!
