Rendering Comparison Empty Rendering Comparison

My personal computer specs is i7-3930k, Gtx-580, 24Gb Ram, without SSD.

Office computer specs is i7-3930k, Gtx-580,32Gb Ram, with 240gb SSD.

Mga bossing may max file ako na nirender sa office and inabot siya ng 1hr then nung sinubukan ko siyang irender sa bahay with the same settings as it is eh 30mins lang. sinubukan ko siya ng 3 times and same result ung nangyari, tanong lang po,mas malakas ng konti yung office computer ko pero bakit kaya ganun na mas matagal syang magrender compare to my personal computer?thanks in advance:doublethu:

actually parehas lang po sir 2gb, ako lang din kasi nagset-up dun sa opisina., ang pagkakaiba lang eh may ssd yung dito sa office and 32gb siya.

I think it does, not 100% sure though.
It even speeds up when saving your file.

feel ko sir tama si sir torvicz ganun den nangyayari sakin sa office pag inuuwe ko sa bahay sa office mabilis pag dating  sa bahay medyu mabagal.. yun pala dahil sa  path, pag dumadaan pa sa network para mag check ng files medyu may kabagalan.. lalo na kung yung mga texture size mo eh 2k pataas ang reso...

pag nag resource collector pa no need na i repath ang texture automatic ba sya nag nag rerepath sa folder na pinag archive mo ng texture?

ako kasi ginagawa ko bitmap/photometric paths, den copy lahat ng texture sa isang folder , den sa bitmap/photmetric paths ko na ren sya i rerepath yung textures.

yep could it be sa path configuration sir. punta ka lng sa customize at configure user path/external files. tapos delete mo lng ang ibang paths na di ginagamit sa scene.                                                                                                     
kung minsan napapansin mo pag nag merge ka ng mga evermotion  models. di na hinahanap yung ibang maps kase naka path na siya  sa external files. Very Happy

hmm.. assuming your scene is using a lot of bitmaps..
Sa office pc mo, are all your bitmaps residing inside the SSD drive? if yes, then I believe that also factors in to the rendering time..

Siguro you could try stripping your scene.. loose all your bitmaps, just do a clay render with your lights/GI turned on. Then compare the rendering performance of your office and home pc. (Be sure to check your Asset Tracking dialog if you're scene is still using bitmaps.. it should be empty to really be able to do a nice comparison.. para lang sure na walang binabasang bitmaps before rendering).

Regarding your video card.. unless you're using VrayRT, I believe it should not affect your render times that much.

Once you do a resource collector it is better to remove all the path in the configuration path and put only the folder you made in saving the resource but make sure you save the current configuration kasi hahanapin yan ng mga luma mong max file. This is what I normally do pag matagal na mag-save ang file ko.

Crazyyard - Yes sir automatic na siyang magrerepath pag sa resource collector.

Cubi - thanks for the info maam, i will try it tomorw in the office:thumbs: 

Galagast - lahat po ng bitmap or materials ko ay hindi nakasave sa SSD ko.salamat sir.

By the way sa PC ko po sa office ay may nakainstall na license na 3dmax2013 and license na vray pero ang ginagamit ko ay yung 3dmax2012 na hindi license:D  then yung PC ko sa bahay ay hindi license both 3Dmax and vray.pwede kayang maging reason din yun kaya nagiiba yung rendering time?

bro, make sure yung mga texture mo, ies, proxy and specially yung mismong .Max file ay parehong naka-SAVE sa local hard drive ng ginagamit mong PC then compare it.

usually sa office, dumadaan yan sa server kaya medyo may kabagalan mag load ng maps, mag save ng file at mag render.

sir acen, na experience ko rin ito, mostly duon sa user path nag kakaproblema, mas madaming path mas mabagal, suggest ko na i-save archive mo yung file, then unzipped mo on both workstation (office and home), then test mo ulit.
