the ribbon house - Page 2 Empty the ribbon house

Post by jadamat Fri Feb 20, 2009 7:39 am

First topic message reminder :

hi guys,,, it's been a while since my last post,,,i kinda disappeared from the world of 3d for a quiet of time,,nevertheless i'm back again..And oh,,this would be my first post in this year, and also my 200th post,,kinda historic ehh..hhihi but anyway this is some kind of a personal project,,,both involving design and visualization...so i kinda like to discuss a bit of an overview to this project,,, and please forgive me if i talked too much... Very Happy well the design was originally intended for a couple, in which they asked me to design a 2 storey house for them...too bad the project was canceled,,and i kinda have a sad feeling since i pour some efforts just to please them...to my disappointment, i looked at the project again and began to wonder if i could somehow revise my idea to a more daring concept, just to please myself..thus the concept of the ribbon house takes place. I imagine the house to be free from the use of artificial ventilation so most of the exterior walls are stripped and shred into deformed and curvilinear strips, much like a band of ribbons which wrap a certain space forming the shell. too good, the clients will hardly recognize their house anymore Laughing...so here it is guys hope you'll like it...c&c's are always welcome...thanks... Smile

i won't comment much on the other aspects but i would like to highlight why i prefer this particular image, and that is the effective use of playing with shadows and lighting in the front road, it does makes a big difference as compared to the normal plain foreground approach.

one nitpick - you seem to have antialiasing issues especially with the roof. my guess is this occurred during post processing. if it is, make sure your masking is free from jagged lines.

great job dude.[/quote]

yeah,,,the jagged lines happened during the post production,,,thank you sir for appreciating the work,,,,mas matindi pa ang mga works nyo sir,,,your firm is one of our inspirations here...

sir i admire the design.. ang galing po... im looking at the curves and they are alive and free flowing... this is made possible, kasi di lang isang curve strand ung ginawa nyo po... it has variation... which i love most... the concept seems to be so in love, bagay na bagay nga for a couple. Smile galing din ng earth tone color scheme neto. congrats nga pala po for passing the B.E. third image for me is the best. all are very godd though.

design is different, hence refreshing... rendering is still spot on... my only qualm is if it would fit sa tropical climate natin master jadamat, otherwise ganda talaga...

good question bro,,right now i'm inclined to wood sa specs ng kanyang strips but i still have slight ideas as to the fabrication of it kasi the design demands that the wood should be curved...i was also thinkin' of aluminum framings kaso, still the same,,limited pa din ideas ko sa fabrication ng mga ito ,,sorry din po at wala sa presentation yung vertical framings ng ribbons which is also curvilinear to conforn ng kanyang contours,,,anyway,,if i'll have it solved maybe i'll be posting the final design of this house...thnks bro...
