Architecture Thesis!

Good Morning po. 5th year Architecture Student po ako from Saint Louis University Baguio City. Until now wala pa po akong proposal sa thesis and I'm starting to panic na po. Ano po bng Building type na pwedeng ipropose for thesis? Yung competitive po sana and pwedeng magamit ng Baguio in the future.

I hope may mga suggestions po kayo. Maraming Salamat po.

Research ka po ng problems dyan sa Baguio, problems that can be solved architecturally, wag po specific proposal ang hanapin mo po... thesis is all about proposing a solution for an existing problem... isa pa pong consideration sa pag pili ng proposal ay yung sa tingin mo po ay mae-enjoy mo... opinion ko lang naman po ito...

since ideal ang climate ng baguio, try mo yung mga structures na may kinalaman sa sports, agriculture and tourism....

Ok po ang hotel na proposal pero masyado na po madami sa Baguio ang hotels eh. Mejo rare na rin po mga lots where you can propose for a hotel. Pero possible pa rin po un since tourism nga po ang main advantage ng Baguio because of its climate.

over the years medyo nakakasawa na puntahan ang Burnham Park. i think Baguio needs a new attraction, maybe a new theme park. or maybe you could propose a revitalization of Mines View Park. parking is a major problem in the city, maybe you could address that too.

Here is one of the problem that i see in BAguio. from city of pines, its becoming city of houses, this will become worse in the future kung walang gagawin ang government.

Gumawa ka ng study on housing sa baguio. Gawa ka ng guidelines para gumanda ang Baguio.

Check mo ang Santorini at India Blue City. Very simple rules lang kaya ang ganda ng City nila. Tingnan mo ang Picture na pinost ni whey, icompare mo, malaki ang potential di ba?

payong estudyante lang, kung gusto mo makatapos ng architecture, gawin mong thesis yung madali lang, tsaka mo na isipin ang problema ng baguio pag licensed ka na, ika nga one step at a time lang muna.

ang baguio pag tumagal ang turista ng isa at kalahating araw dyan gusto ng umuwi pabalik ng maynila.tama yung sinabi ni sir tutik naging boring na at napaka traffic..at yung mga hindi buildable na area natatayuan na, basta maitayo lang.walang kaitsu itsura.dahil mabenta ang baguio sa mga park at mga souvenir mines view.kasi napansin ko napuno na ng souvenir shop ang mga park dyan. pwede siguro BAGUIO EXTREME ADVENTURE PARK etc.etc.,(na may cable car narin).at lagyan mo ng hotels kung kulang man ng mga hotel dyan sa baguio..ilayo mo rin yung mga souvenir shop sa loob ng park.. dyan..hehehehe.,remember wag magputol ng maraming puno.yan ang issue ngayon sa SM.baka dyan ka tirahin ng juror.

haha.. deteriorated n po tlga ang Baguio. Nakalimit po kmi sa mga buildings for proposal po. So that means hindi n po muna pwede yung parks sa batch namin.

Oo nga po pla, May alam po b kayong websites kng san po mkkhanap ng Related Studies for a Home for the Aged and design guidelines na rin po provided by the Philippine Government if ever meron po. Thank You po!

Hello dude. You could definitely try solving Baguio's problems using your thesis... Pero di naman necessarily sobrang large scale. Ang naisip ko. Why not do a redevelopment of Magsaysay... Given na tumbok na tumbok siya ng well known Session road. Kung gusto mo ng specific area, why not choose the area ng Maharlika at Sunshine. Sobrang eyesore na ng area na yun kumpara noon. Or further closer dun sa harap ng SLU mismo... :-) as for literature on hotels... Why not sa libe niyo mismo? Or pwede dumeretso ka sa mga misng hotel like say, sa Manor. Mang interview ka first hand ng personnel ang managers. :-) Good luck! For a better Baguio!

For now, design-based po kasi yung thesis namin. we are not yet allowed po on Urban development or Landscaping. If literature po ba Journals, Articles, Case Studies, or any material na makukuha from books or magazines?

Concept ko po sa Hotel is a Boutique Hotel located at Romulo Drive, Baguio City near Wright Park and The Mansion. The lot is about 5000 square meters po. Is the lot okay for a Boutique Hotel?
