"Tips n' Tricks on how to speed up rendering"
First topic message reminder :
You might have some tips and tricks on how to speed up your rendering, care to share them with us?
It may be about material set up, lighting set up, or the number of mesh...anything.
Any information regarding this would be a great help not only for me but for all of us here in the community.
I'm hoping you could help...
Thank you in advance...

Sakin if you can produce a neat and clean ouput using very low or low IR then theres no need to drastically change to high or medium, my setup always start as LOw/very low Hsph-35 and LC subdivision -250.. my rendertime with Core2quad q660 at 1200x875 at 3-7mins in interior..

tekla structure or xsteel. this is probably use for steel detailing, for column and beam (I-Beam),and also for calculation of loads. it also use in architectural, pro mas ok cya sa mga load detail ng mga beam.

to fellow cgpinoys : some more?
sori sir baguhan lng po ako, kya wala tricks, sir about this one "turning off anti virus"?, ang nagyayari po kc sa akin kpag outdated antivirus or kung nakaoff pati un User Account(vista premium), ang nangyayari po sakin eh, tumatagal lalo ung rendering to almost 3x the usual, napansin ko lng po, ung 5MB na max file inaabot ng 30hours+ rendering, lately ko lng napapansin sa laptop ko, pero hindi po nakamaximum render settings. panu po un?
Re: "Tips n' Tricks on how to speed up rendering"
mmm, what i san say is.........
if we are just talking of presets and overclocking or hardwares, for me it is pointless.
its better that we all talk about of one particular scene, para isa lang ang variable.
torvics-------- musta na dude.

Sir share ko lang din (sorry if kasama na sa list kasi I just glanced on it.)
--> learn to use render elements/passes
--> use the batch render feature (even if it's a single image). I think it's new in 3ds max.

Re: "Tips n' Tricks on how to speed up rendering"
sa akin naman, always start with a low res rendering kapag di pa final at sample palang ang learn to use region kung spot spot lang at gusto mo lang makita ung output ng material mo sa certain object.. sineset ko lang sa very low ang IR ko tapos 500 lang ung LC and 800 ang size kapag try try muna..
then sa FINAL render naman i have chart in terms of paper size..
*A4 = IR low, LC 800, 1600 res
*A3 = IR med, LC 1000, 2000 res
*A2 to A0 = IR med, LC 1500, 3000 res
*billboard ads = IR high, LC 2000, 5000 res
Agree ba sa advices ko mga masters? sana makatulong.. lets keep on learning!!

oo nga naman! salamat dude kurdaps....ngyon ko lang narinig to ha? heheh
if if you can avoid using displacements then do so. if not, use it only to the elements near the camera din. for example "grass"

KASO NAKA TAPAT TLGA ELECTRC FAN SA CPU KO ...
dude, as a rule, wag ka mag caps lock...bawal dito e...
pwede mo bang i-explain pa eto...interesado ako dyan sa overclocking e...panu ba?
it may not destroy your CPU now but is reduces CPU's lifespan.. but it actually helps. un nga lang its a risk...

Re: "Tips n' Tricks on how to speed up rendering"
For Mental Ray user, always convert all texture files in MAP file. That way, Mental Ray won't have to load every texture every time it renders. It will only load the necessary texture that is being seen on the camera. Like for example, when a human model is being rendered but the face is the only area that is visible in the camera and the textures are in Tif, targa or any other image extension, it will load all the data of the texture before it renders. Mental ray can access these .map files in small pieces (or tiles), so it never has to load the entire image into memory. It can be done using the imf_copy.exe in the installed folder of Autodesk maya or XSI. I don't know if its available in MAX.

Re: "Tips n' Tricks on how to speed up rendering"
add ko lang tong tip na ito for those who are not aware, use x64 version to avoid crashes due to insufficient memory. if you are using x86 or 32bit windows then use the 3gb switch to avoid max crash.

Re: "Tips n' Tricks on how to speed up rendering"
d q alam kung meron n nitong nkapagshare nito pero you can use .map file when using high res textures.it can reduce rendering time significantly.hehe tnx

ito sir tip ko...
let us all elevate ourselves during the process so will not all end up always to be facing the monitor and rendering.
vray-proxy pa rin sa akin.

pwede bang elaborate ko nalang about proxy?
it only means baka meron pa tayong iba na pwede nating gawin for example in span of 3 years...
example...while others are learning to improve themselves about rendering others improve themselves to be designers...in the end they are not just renderer but designer...and so on and so on.
sir tip ito for all (para lang malinaw) mamaya ma mis-interprete ako.

the reason I asked you dude to elaborate it kase di ko ma-relate sa topic natin, which is "tips n tricks on how to speed up rendering".
Iba palang tip yung sinasabi mo....ok lang naman, just stick to the topic lang tayo dude...thanks!

hehehe dude... master Galaites is like a monk from the highest regions of Tibet... He will give you wisdom... but you have to swim the deepest trenches of the oceans to look for it... and even if you find it, it will still be encrypted in code not even the almighty could crack... hehehehe...
