Re: Salary in Singapore

Re: Salary in Singapore
Guys, 1.5K - 2K SGD is too low for 3D Visualizer position.. and mind you it is also degrading to receive that amount with bunch of projects coming-in and meeting up all the deadlines. Please do remember, artistic talent and skill ang babayaran nila sayo, hindi yung teknikal o kung ano lang yung natutunan at alam mo
If got the experience and expertise, I would suggest you start with the minimum pay of 3K..at kung astig kana 4K would be better.
But if you have a doubt on your skills at gusto mo makahanap agad ng work 2.2k to 2.5K would be the safest amount to ask.

I doubt may magbibigay sa inyo nyan ganyan kalaki. expertise is big factor, correct line of work is another thing. 2.2 is good enough to start. 1800 is to low for a starter. alalahanin nyo ang employer, usually hahanap ng butas para bumaba ang sahod mo, like kung bago ka dito, iba yung dati mong work, di ka marunong mag 3d, masyadong bata ka pa.
but if you have the brain, the experience and the skill. you can ask 2.7 to 3k.

Re: Salary in Singapore
check the MOM guidelines first as this is a good starting point.
S-Pass:
http://www.mom.gov.sg/foreign-manpower/passes-visas/s-pass/before-you-apply/Pages/default.aspx
Employment Pass:
http://www.mom.gov.sg/foreign-manpower/passes-visas/employment-pass/before-you-apply/Pages/default.aspx
so if the offer is 1.5k don't bother coz it is below the requirement for S-pass. the 2k requirement was formulated as a 'base salary' for a foreign talent (FT) to conservatively earn and survive the living standards of singapore. but it doesn't mean you can't ask for more.
you mentioned that you have earned 5+2yrs experience. if you know how to sell this then you might be able to ask for more. this is where your negotiation skills will come handy. good luck!

pwede pa rin Ed:
"MOM will still be allowed to consider applicants with a proven track
record and exceptional skill sets but whom may not meet the
qualifications required under the enhanced EP framework."
so keep brushing up on your skill sets

the singapore government is tightening the influx of foreigners. they are raising the bar in terms of credentials plus salary base to give top priority to the locals. unfortunately it's a tight race now.

yes, it was felt since the parliamentary election. in my opinion the message is:
- if you are a foreign talent already employed in SG, hold on to your jobs.
- local or foreign talent: raise your productivity, upgrade your skills, stay competitive
- if you are an employer, prioritize hiring local talents

Re: Salary in Singapore
Mahigpit na rin pala diyan sa SG hindi lang dito sa ME.
Now KSA is hiring locals on the first list, if no other choice saka na pipili sa expats.

Re: Salary in Singapore
PAALALA
mag ingat sa mga pinagsasabi nyo.. lahat tayo "nakikita" nila dito.
ED, if you are applying for the EPEC and your school wasn't in the list, automatic denied yun agad. but it still depends sa MOM if ever makakuha ka ng offer dito.. di naman porket natanggap ka na sa isang company ay pwede ka na mag work dito. Application for a work pass will take about weeks or months.. (yun friend ko na nirecruit ko, his application was rejected the first time then we appealed).. yes he went back there kasi di na sya pwede magpa extend (one month extension na lang ngayon) .. so the problem now is IF he can get out of Philippines.. alam nyo naman na ang bongga ng restrictions na ngayon sa immigration dyan sa atin.
the ratio of locals to FT are also an issue.. and also yun nature ng business. at kung malaki yun company.
but for now, mga taga dito muna ang uunahin nila para sa trabaho.

Re: Salary in Singapore
that 70-100sgd was based on bus fair.. depende pa kung malayo yun napasukan mo sa nakuha mong rented room.
mine mga 50-70 lang.. pag mey mga lakwatsa nagiging 80++.. our EZ link can pay Mcdo , 711 and some supermarket kaya pag nag grocery yun na ginagamit ko..
mey taxi dito.. yun iba ang flag down is 2.80sgd, some is 3.00sgd , meron din 3.20 at ang pinaka nakaka iyak sa lahat yun 5.00sgd pagsakay mo pa lang..
20cents every 300m ata.
tipid ako sa pamasahe nowadays kasi trip lagi mag carpool ng mga ofcmate ko. neighbor kasi yun dalawa, mey auto yun isa.. papasok and pauwi
