How much do you earn from your current job? (in peso)
CGP Members Salary Survey
Hi guys. I'm doing this survey to gauge the current condition of our industry. Architects, designers, viz artist, etc. I think we have a good number of sample for this survey. I don't know what will the result bring specifically, but I'm hopeful it will help us gauge and strenghten the state of our careers in one way or another. I encourage everyone to participate. Thank you.

Survey ito bro. It's not about any companies. survey ito ng mga current na sahod ng mga members natin sa CGP. if you answer the poll, you will see the results kung ilang ang nasa ganitong bracket etc.

Salary
Hey Guys,
Warning lang! Make sure what you put here are honest to goodness truth. I am sure most of the people who will chance upon this survey will use it as reference to decide on their next career move! So seryoso 'to! For example ako, I may use this to see If I can go back to Philippines anytime soon--If the salaries are improving!
100T abroad is possible pre-financial crisis (2008), pero ngayon madalang na! If you want that salary be ready to do multi-tasking! Kainin ang pride at mag-DRAFTING ka rin, otherwise, candidate ka for REDUNDANCY!
Reality check--you want 100t salary abroad you have to have these:
Visualization skills: (this is a good foundation)
Good Taste: (Design skills! Ito ang mahirap i-develop! Yung akala mo maganda na, pero sa paningin ng ibang tao "baduy" pala--i'm still struggling in this department)
Design Coordination Skills: (this will set you apart from typicall visualizer--the capability to execute the design from concepts to actually finding the contractor, suppliers, and engineering support like lighting designers, MEP designers et.al.
Thanks Sir Bokkins for jumpstarting this survey! Kudos to you Sir!
Good Luck sa ating lahat!

Re: CGP Members Salary Survey
Salaries abroad are of course higher than in the Philippines.
But what shall it prove if you will be spending it abroad just the same.
Remember that the amount of work, competition and the expectations (both from the employer and the employee) are very much different abroad.
So if you are receiving 200K say in Japan and you will be spending most of it in Japan as well, then its like being in the Philippines at 40K or something.
Personally, I'd rather be in the Philippines.

Re: CGP Members Salary Survey
Kaya kung may apportunidad kang magtrabaho sa abroad at the first time na assure mo lang sa sarili mo na maging matatag, masikap, mat'yaga at may takot ka sa taas habang malayo sa Family mo or keep all the good & right things to do & forget about BAD habit (Disiplina sa sarili) ang kailangan.

nerie014 wrote:100k on abroad ? is this the senior 3d artist/visualizer ? hmm . just a shocking salary
Not so shocking actually, really depends on where you work abroad. PhP 100,000 / month = $2,500 USD. I assume this is pre-tax salary, that is actually quite low if you live in my city. In the city I work in California, minimum wage is around $1,772 / month (21 days, 8 hours a day). That's the salary of someone who works at a McDonald's or somewhere similar. Don't be shocked though as cost of living here is VERY, VERY expensive.
$2,500 / month less taxes is around $1,925. Now a 1 bedroom apartment in a decent neighborhood is around $1,600/month to RENT, so actually $2,500 /month salary is low if you live where I live and I do not even live in THE most expensive city in the US, that would be New York, there $1,600 gets you a studio apartment in Manhattan. Oher cities like London and Tokyo are even more expensive.
As a point of reference, a junior architect (2-3 years experience) makes an average of $40,000 / year where I live, that's about PhP 135,000 a month (pre-tax). A skilled 3D renderer will make more than that.
