Mental Ray Renderer

mga sir/mam pahelp naman po kung pano gagawing parang vray yung rendering sa mental ray? any suggestion mga master sa settings? or techniques sa lighting? wala po kasi pambili ng vray hehe.. please mga master kelangan ko lng po so badly.. im a architecture student po kasi.. and 3d architectural visualization is a big help for my course..

sir is there any chance na pwede matulad ng MR ang vray? khit sa exterior.. dami po kac nagsasabi mahina daw po ang mental ray sa exterior.. sir can you share a workflow for exterior rendering in mental ray? yung mala vray po ang quality.. i've been playing with it for 2 months and still no luck sir..

sir edosayla i watch every possible videos you have in here and its all wonderful.. thanks.. actually ive been watching it all for about 2 months now when i have a spare time.. architecture is a really busy course .. uhh.. i really learn from your videos everything i know about mental ray.. pero sir is it really possible for mental ray to have a very realistic render like vray? i always play with its settings pero hindi ko po matulad yung mga renderings ng vray na nakikita ko dito sa cgpinoy.. i get frustrated all the time.. but mental ray is my favorite because it is built in and free hehe.. any tips sir? i know its too much to ask..

I believe medyo na under estimate mo ang Mentalray , it's there before meron vray at ginagamit yan sa mga productions like movies, advertisements .. until now ginagamit pa rin at lalong lumulupet.. check out http://www.mentalimages.com/index.php dyan mo makikita ang mga render ng mentalray .. anyway kahit anong renderer pa yan Vray, MentalRay , Indigo etc.. nasa user po yan at kung papano ka mag tweak ng mga settings mo especially on lighting.. hope naka help

maybe sir it'll help if you post some of your works, para makita din po iyong mga dapat i-improve or tweak sa settings mo po, hanggang sa maabot po natin ang desired output mo po.

I think i have posted already some of my works here .. kaso ang iba hindi ko pwede e post kasi under contract ako ng company .. pasensya ha at sa tutorials ko po gamit ko lang kasi laptop at iniisip ko rin ang mga laptop ng mga students ko pag nasobrahan na ang mga projects hindi na kakayanin ng laptops nila .. if you're using mentalray you need to have a good computer with high on memory .. to render faster kaya nga sa production sya mostly ginagamit kasi maraming computer na ang nag rerender.. again mentalray user are very secretive sa mga techniques nila kaya kakaunti lang nakikita mo mentalray users.. maraming naka tago behind mentalray kaya go deeper if you want to explore it ..

Render-wise parehas lang sila ng quality (Vray & Mental Ray) nagkakatalo lang sa kani-kanilang mga plugins/scripts at elements, recommended ang mental ray habang wala ka pang vray sundan mo lang yung mga tutorials ni sir Edosayla dun lang din ako nagsimula nung mental ray user pa'ko itry mo i-unleash yung mib_blackbody ( http://www.cgpinoy.org/t11460-how-to-unleash-mib_blackbody-mib_cie_d-in-3ds-max-2011 ) para matry mo ang power ng mental ray check ka lang sa tutorials enough na yan para maachieve mo gusto mo practice lang talaga ang susi bro.

mga master thank you po! tingin ko sa lighting ang problem ko hehe.. i always use mr sun and mr sky lang eh.. meron pa po ba mga ibang tekniks pa ng lighting sa mental ray? specially in exterior rendering? paturo naman po mga master hehe.. ano po ba yung 3 point lighting? xenxa na po im a newbie talaga eh.. please help..

3 point lighting ay more on lighting for a subject (e.g. character). tinawag syang 3-point lighting kasi mostly and mainly will consist of 3 lights (main, fill and back/kicker lights) pero hindi lang sya nag-sstrict sa 3 lighting setup. recommended talaga siya to light a single subject. parang sa photography ng portraiture sa isang model sa studio.

you can try mental ray's hdri or sun and sky. baka kasi nagkakproblem ka sa gamma nya (washed out yung scene). you need to learn exposure controls there.

try to research bro, daming tutorials sa net, hindi ka mahihirapan.
