@kietsmark

ilan ba all in all yung memory slot ng mobo mo? yup, gagana yung dual channel kapag nasa same color nakalagay. pero di ko lang alam bakit sa utol ko gumana yung binigay kong Kingston HyperX sa kanya ng magkatabi ng slot. hahaha... weird nga eh.

anyway... kung ako tatanungin mas okay yung 4GB (2X2GB) Corsair Dominator 1066Mhz Dual Channel DDR2. in terms of speed in rendering, mas mabilis ang mas mataas na frequency.

pero in your case, I think 8GB will be overkill. mas bagay ang 8GB para sa 3D motion. I would suggest get the 4GB Corsair Dominator 1066 rather than the XMS. then later on, if you have the budget and still want to make it 8GB, then buy another pair of Dominator, atleast hindi nasayang ang investment mo sa memory. by the way, paalala lang, 4GB RAM cannot be fully utilized by a 32 bit operating system.

thanks bro thumbsup malaking tulong to para makapagdecide ako hehehe. merong 4 slots ang mobo ko and ang nakalagay sa manual na maximum capacity sa ram is 8GB. salamat sa paalala, i am using vista x64 kaya ayos lang. meron din kasi akong plan na upgrade ng mobo from GA-965P-DQ6 to EP45-DQ6. kaya good choice nga ung dominator para later-on mobo naman and talagang gusto ko makahawak ng 8GB na ram hindi lang para sa work... sa games na rin lol

Hi Guys, have tried rendering on the new icore7, here are some render times using vray.

q6600- 2mins50secs(4 threads)
920icore7= 1min36secs (8 threads)

stock ghz lahat, 4gb yun q6600 dual channel, 3gb yun 920icore7 tri channel.

i agree! Q6600 the best!!! kaso masyadong mainit ano bro? yan bang Corei7 e oks lang kahit stock fan muna? or talagang mabilis din uminit?

I noticed on the longer render times, corei7 almost renders twice as fast. Matipid sa kuryente, kasi 2 q6600 kaya lang sa 1 corei920 Very Happy

yup, kung may budget, why not dba? pero parang kung baga sa pinoy na "pwede na yan!" ay pwede na nga yung Q6600. and for most of the people na naka Q6600 ngayon, magastos ang mag upgrade to Corei7 dahil kailangang palitan pati motherboard, memory and even have to modify the motherboard screw holes inside the casing and worst is to buy a new one. kaso po dba ang i7 is parang hyperthread lng na quad core. so hindi talga sya totaly 8 cores. parang kada core naka hyperthread. and speed increase daw is mga 60% lng.. correct me if im wrong na lng po.

@crayzard

Post by insurgent Sat Dec 20, 2008 6:21 pm

Madaming misinformation sa internet kaya madaming misleading statements na kumakalat at nagpapasa-pasa, and most are subjective opinions that can be true for some, but not for everyone.

Anyway, kelangan nyo consider na magkaiba architecture ng ATI at Nv cards so hindi mo pwedeng compare basta basta ung specs like clock speed or kung pano basahin ng isang 3rd party app ung card.

As far as i know for ATI cards the shader clock speed is the same as the gpu core clock speed, increase the gpu core and you increase the shader clocks, it's not better or worse than Nv, just different designs.

If you want to get more technical you can read this review:

http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3341

http://www.tipidpc.com/useritems.php?username=PCHub

@Akira: bosing hindi dual gpu yan kung di ako nagkakamali Dual ung model name kasi dual fans and dual bios yata: stock and OCed, marketing label lang ung Dual parang Quad series ng Gigabyte mobos. Kung dual gpu sya dapat mae-enable mo CrossfireX.

Review of the same model:
http://www.tweaktown.com/reviews/1648/palit_radeon_hd_4870_sonic_1gb_graphics_card/index.html

@necrolyte: not sure what you mean kasi hindi naman ginagamit sa rendering GPUs unless RTSquare gamit mong plugin. Like I said, I'm using a 4850 in Max 2009 coming from 8800GTS 640 and wala naman akong problems related sa display/viewport and actually mas mabilis sya even after I modded the 8800 into an emulated Quadro.
