sketchup + ruby tutorial #1
One thing that makes sketchup more efficient with modelling is by using ruby scripts/plugin. Rubies are xml file scripts that can be pasted in the plugin folder of sketchup. In this first tutorial, I want to share one of my favorite ruby the "projection". This is a free script and can be downloaded at sketchucation.com (ruby category)
I want to use one of my favorite tool here.. the extrude selected line along vector. Without this tool, it takes long time to model a simple curtain with a single face. In this short tutorial, I will show you how it will work.
1. draw a spline, or just a simple freehand to draw a contour line. ( I used freehand tool)
2. open the projection toolbar, if its not yet there (view/toolbar) then select the contour line. Once the contour line has been selected, click extrude selected line along vector. Drag the line along the blue axis and type the height that you want.
3. now let's just smooth the curtain using soften edges tool.
thats all.. only three steps.

Re: sketchup + ruby tutorial #1
go to sketchucation.com, paregister ka. punta ka sa plugin/script section. halos ng mga plugin developer sinashare nila ang mga plugins duon.
