Infantry Soldier
Medyo magaan sched and downtime sa office kaya gawa ako ng separate na WIP dito.
I started modeling a soldier, an infantry soldier which means "they" ( I used they since they will be many in the scene I'm planning to make LOL ) are low ranking officer and aren't that good at combat but they are very well armored. He will be an enemy of Henco which will be part of my demoreel.

I changed the collar. Don't have any reason though why, I just thought I changed it hehee. As you can see I wasn't able to do the concept for his back so I just modeled spontaneously the objects on that part. Comments are welcome. Have a good day! Cheers!

@reyknow - thanks bro, cge gawin ko yan. Medyo curvy nga. Bale 3 point lighting lang saka may Sphere globe na may HDRI image sya. Render muna ako ng isang beauty tapos isang ambient occlusion. Then sa PS naman, import sila, Ambient occlusion pass nasa taas ng beauty pass tapos change mo lang yung blending mode nun into multiply. Para mas ma-accentuate yung "near to each other object shadowing". Kung malabo sabi ka lang hanap ako ng Tut na link or ipost ko step images dito. Thanks bro sa pagdaan. Kita ko si Marian, Yummy!

@ reyknow - kaya yan bro. Maya gamit ko. LOL wala yatang ganyan sa or ewan ko lang. Gnawa ko na yung steps, iuupload ko nalang mamaya sa tutorial section ng maya.
@fpj999 - Render in beauty means na yung rendered image mo completo na. Meron na syang shadow, reflection, color, bump etc. Pwede kasi ihiawalay ang pagrender ng color, diffuse, reflection etc. Ambient occlusion naman para sakin ay ang pagdadagdag ng shadow sa mga objects na magkakalapit sa isa't isa. ito sabi sa wikipidea

I added some seams for the suit( the cloth he wears under his armor). So its more like a jacket that can be open from the front and the same with the pants.

Finished the body. I kinda felt that there is a need to add something below the stomach area. I thought it was kind of empty, so I put a buckle on it. I recycled Henco's head. Simply modifying it a little bit and putting a human ear instead of the original one. Now unto the Helmet.

Finished the helmet.The character model is quite complete but I'll probably add some more detail but only the small stuff like the handle of the zipper for his suit etc. Anything I can think that would make the model sell more. Comments are welcome as I'm still in the model stage hehe. Cheers!

Made some changes to the sights. I put a sniper like sight and the viewer would be like a monitor that even if you don't look at it, you can see it in the Helmet screen. But if they don't have the helmet on, they can manually look at the monitor. something like that. I can probably do an animation for that .

Finished texturing the head. No hair for now, I'll have to experiment with shave and haircut first but I'll probably do that after I finished all the texture top to bottom. I used displacement and bump, no normal map. Probably for the body I would use that.
I rendered 13 different passes and composited them in Autodesk Toxik. Next task is setting up the SSS shader, that would be the main shader for the head.

@reyknow - thanks man for dropping by. Tama ka bro, balak ko kasi Semi realistic, parang Tekken or Dragon Age cinematic type na characters. Parang ganito:

Sa tunay na render na kasama set, cguro aabot pa sya ng 40 passes. Pag may time gawa ako tutorial nito kung pano iseparate lahat ng passes, kasama normal map, shadow, motion vector, color, diffuse etc. Pero gagawa palang ako ng main shader nya na SSS. LOL, hindi ko alam kung paano gawin yang nilagay mo. Kung mahahanap mo yung link, tingnan ko at baka maadapt natin Salamat ulit

may libro pala ko d2, pangalan "Creatve ESSENCE: The Face", try mo hanap ng ebook meron siguro na madodownload lang.
meron sya 2 paraan para makagawa ng ganyan na output.
yung una SSS. nakadescribe d2 ko pano yung SSS nya, pero di kasali yung exact settings, parang maliit na description lang. 15 passes lang sya.
yung isang paraan nya eh yung "poor man's SSS", basically sa photoshop karamihan ggwin, tapos realtime ang SSS, parang para sa next gen games.

@reyknow - thanks bro. LOL actually bro medyo kunti na 40 passes para sa post kasi nga yung sa transformer inabot ng 120 passes hehe. mga 20 passes sa character, 5 sa environment effects at 15 sa set. Medyo nga marami pero mas efficient sya kasi hindi mo na kailangan magrender ulit kasi pwede mo i-tweak na paisa isa ang mga passes lalo na pag 32 - bit floating image ang narender. Meron na rin ito kasama SSS.
