What is your Workflow? Empty What is your Workflow?

Post by nomeradona Wed Feb 03, 2010 11:30 pm

I think its good to share kung anu yung workflow natin from modelling to post processing. And how do you export it from one image to another.

here are my common workflows:

modelling:

architectural: Sketchup most of the time. If plans are complicated I normally import autocad drawing to sketchup and turn them into Group for tracing and reference.

product models: i use jpg pictures as reference and model them using sketchup. most of the time i have 2 or 3 views.

organic modelling: workflow - sketchup na halos.

rendering:
- sketchup output for quick presentation for interior sometime using Light Up for interior and export them as jpg. (mabilisan)
- rendering using sketchup pluggin like podium, vray su, kerkythea (before), twighlight or (average speed) and most of the time diffuse and alpha are save either with jpg or png.
- sometimes i export the 3ds to max, add some components and rendered using Vraymax (matagal sa akin to) then save the render image either in bmp, png
- in other cases kapag product i used hypershot or sometimes indigo. saved them in png

post processing: Photoshop siempre but sometimes i use photomatix from the 3 rendered different exposures.

Sir nomer, nag start na kong mag sketch up. As in super bilis.Lalo na sa architectural modeling.Parang winalanghiya si Editable poly e. hehehehe..Push pull lang.Accurate pa and malinis sa viewport. Im used to model everything sa max. Yun kse nakasanayan ko and mabilis na ko dun kso nung na try ko mag sketch up mas napa bilis pa.Kahit basic walls lang ceiling and mga doors and windows mas mabilis gawin sa SU.
So workflow ko ngayon.SU-MAX-Post like AE and PS.

actually more and more people prefer this workflow. so parng yung basic structure model ng architecture eh sa sketchup muna tapos lipat na agad sa max.

yung sketchup talaga design for initial presentation. kaya lang ang daming request na realistic rendering kayu yun kung anu anung pluggins ang nadevelop. pero whether you like it or not pag bumibigat na ang scene. talagang hindi na pwede sketchup. so max is really an excellent option. so yung mga abubot na high poly eh talagang sa max mona dapat ilagay at irender. So as you have said. grabe ka sa rendering sa max vray. as in grabe talaga. so using SU sa initial lang eh talagang mapabibilis pa yung workflow mo. Very Happy

Oo nga sir nomer..Ang maganda kse sa ganung workflow may same coordinates sila. Ok din sya sa revisions.Kse merge or replace lng ok na. Pwede ka na din mag set ng material id sa SU para pagdating sa max madali ng mag convert.. thumbsup

ako rn sa architectural SU to MAX the VRAY then PS lng...

Very Happy

i have to admit that vraysu lags far more behind than vraymax. kung baga yung vraymax talagang establish na. ikalawa yung SU hirap talaga sa pagsuporta ng maraming polygons. so yung parsing time. pagcalculate ng su gemetry and materials medyo matagal.. kaya nga marami ang nagrerender sa varymax rather than vraysu. i guess the prefered workflow ng karamihan ay imodel sa max ang basic architectural structure tapos gawin sa max ang nalalabi.

the question is bakit hinid ako mag vraymax render.. kasi nga dahil raw na raw sa max, hinid ko maipalitaw ang nagagawa ko sa SU and i am very frustrated with that.

i will be in manila too. end of march naman mga isang week. but will be in singapore end of feb. i guess when you are in the philippines. pero palagay ko kung magsstay ka ng more than a year magkikita pa tayo.
