I have done VR for my SPonza using 4000px X 8000 px. http://www.360cities.net/image/sponza

I ended up doing this. render less than a minute using keyshot.

hi rim, it was in Keyshot, formerly hypershot. the background was actually an HDR image.

anyway para mas malinaw, ganito nangyari.

Why it was an accident? because it was not my intention to this. My orginal intention was to do a big spherical map 4000px X 80000 px for 360cities.net. They required at least that size. The only way to do this in vraysketchup is by rendering using VRImage outputting it in EXR files, I have not rendered a big file before, but i was forced to do it so that my Virtual images can be hosted by this site. I did not realize that the EXR output file (VRImage) is 32bit. When I saw the 32 bit .. THATS IT! I was enlightened.. yeah I can save this in HDR. I saved the spherical map in HDR.

Immediately, I opened Keyshot and loaded the HDR. The original intention was gone, inspiration came to try this new workflow. Lo to second surprise of the night. The HDR as background and IBL in keyshot has all those details as if it's part of the image. To get that amount of details in Keyshot, you need to have an extra backplate, while being lighted by HDRI. In this case I did not use any backplate because the details generated by the HDR done in SketchUp in Vray was good enough. This I beleive will open further with the possibility of an excellent animation with frame rendering by less than a minute.

so that is what i am sharing with you now guys. for me discovering like this is an artform alrady. since i/m more on the process rather than the finished work.

understood..
slight misunderstanding there.. was under the impression it was a super ultra fast production render, only goes to show how much i know about sketchup.. XD.

a very nice find nonetheless..

32 bit floating point openEXR's and HDR's are fairly similar, well at least thats how ive seen them as. Accidental workflow 290602 thanks for sharing sir..
