theater lights effect ung gaya ung sa concert

mga master patulong nman kung pano gawin ung theater lights sa 3ds max 2009. nahihirapan kc ako mag produce ng lights na ganun . im current doing a stage design for makka excellence awards dito sa jeddah but i find it hard to produce theater lights bali ang outdoor setting po ito un na lang po ang kulang.sana po mabigyan nu ako ng tips on how to produce theater lights effects.. salamat in advance ......more power sa lahat ng masters

show us some of your references and progress of works bro para mas makatulong kami kung saka-sakali. render effects ba or actual lights na dapat gamitin sa stage lighting setup? kung ung huli, malas, wala tayong alam dyan hehehe

i use IES ...
if u got the IES GENERATOR much better so u can create your own lights

otherwise, use Photoshop, Knoll Lights

but not too much as it is an awarding ceremony .. make it sleek and corporate looking at the same time grand..

pano po i download ung ies generator? bali sa sea side ang location nito e hirap din ako sa pagset ng night time lighting using mentay ray. bago lang po kc ako sa 3d max kaya nangangapa dati kc gamit ko is viven virtual event design software kaso sabi ni boss gumamit na raw ako ng 3ds max for a change kaya heto eager to study 3ds max matagal ko na rin gustong matuto kaya heto nagpupursige talga hehehhe sana matulungan nu ako salamat po sa lahat

As I thought.

IES would have nothing to do with what you want. IES would only be good if you are projecting the light shapes against a wall or a boulder. For free spaces, its a simple spotlight with its volumetric properties on. Check Volume Lights in the Help files for more details. Also make sure you use attenuation in the light properties.

i also use spotlights or direct light, and yes with volume ..

pero mas nagagandahan ako sa effect ng IES lalo when it came from a parcan lights ..

Hello Che,

Nothing is really wrong with IES, it may look good because it filters the light's solidity. It's beauty will be more evident if the light is placed beside a wall. Technically IES are nothing but just the imitation of the cone shapes of real production lights.

In case of spots or theather lights whatever people may call it, the shapes can also be somehow mimicked by masking the light with the shapes you want and using that as a Projector Light (it's a common light property)

meljaqs, I took a look at your first image and you seem to be already on the right track with the volumetrics, Are you wanting to do something else?

may recommended po ba kaung mga setting if i use either mental ray or vray sa mga ganung klaseng lights just for reference lang po ..... thanks again sa mga suggestion nu take note ko po lahat hehehhe.....contractor kc po boss ko ng lights sa mga events kaya un ang hanap nia na effects .....

grabe nice works galing nman how did you do that? yan nga po ang hanap ko na effect for lights in out door but night time setting para makita ang effect ng lights(moving lights , theater lights or other lights hanging in a metal truss)

the scene is the combination of Autocad & 3ds max for modeling, with vray rendering engine, regarding the spot light, its just a standard target spot light, with atmospheric effect - "volume light".

yup2 sa auto cad din ako nag 3d den import to 3d max di ko pa kabisado ang 3d max when it comes to making 3d with accurate size .... tsk tsk tsk beginner talaga ako heheheeh

opo may dapa t pa po akong gawin dun alam nu nman po ung mga arabo demand too much when it comes to lighting lalo nat contactor ng lights boss ko kaya heto naghahanap ako ng solusyon heheheh
