Re: ATI Radeon HD 5870 or NVIDIA 295 GTX
Ati 5870: Dx11, DDR5, 1GB..
Nvidia 295GTX: Dx10, DDR3, 1.7gb Memory, its a SLI-card (meaning its two card in one pcb)..
friendly advice paps, hindi nagkakalayo sa benchmark performance, beside hindi ka naman nag-games diba, get the cheaper one..
in gaming, upon Window 7 arrival, comes DX11, DX11 compliant na yung Ati5870, new games like Battlefield2, AVP and Dirt: Dx11 will be released next year

Re: ATI Radeon HD 5870 or NVIDIA 295 GTX
yun nga din suggestion ko, best for 3D rendering is NVIDIA graphics card. kaya nga yung mga QUADRO GPU ay gawa din ng NVIDIA.
Re: ATI Radeon HD 5870 or NVIDIA 295 GTX
to each its own.. but what really matter is you maximized what you spend for and save some dough for the next upgrade.. do you really need an expensive card?
just words to get an ATi5870 card is because its new product and already DX11 compliant, in par with Windows 7, all major game development is now focus on DX11 and Shader 5.0.. its a sentiments of moving forward for next couple of years before windows release a new OS with DX12.. with DX11 its open with newer gpu and cpu intervention in the next year chapter, and now were talking Intel's i9 gulftown flavor..
wide angle playing Dirt2 Dx11?? how about Eye Infinity wide angle playing Dirt2: Dx11 and Battlefield:Bad company 2, theres PhysicsX but there is Havoc too.. i know Starcraft2 is use Havoc physics, even some 3dsmax modifiers.
at power comsumption and heat gain, technically Nvidia295 is two-gpu-card-in-one, Sli card, mean it eats more power, runs more hotter... and no upgradable heatsink aside from watercooling..
im rendering using 4890 toxic, nothing unsual since i have used to have Nvidia260.. but then again Workstation card is a diffrent thing, yes, Nvidia has Quadro, but there's FireGL for ATi too.. its a healthy choice too..
now still want Nvidia, better wait for Fermi..

no, this pwns NvidiaGTX295 numbers, this is the fastest card up to date, specially if they fixed its current drivers.. and unless Nvidia starts showing us its Fermi platform and stop its paperweight to the tech media i would be glad to see another gpu competition.
the Sapphire HD 5970 OC version; (735mhz from 725Mhz) 10Mhz increase is 'effing joke, OC fail for me.. you can't even feel this additional 10mhz in real time gaming
what we should wait is its Toxic or Vapor-X version

Re: ATI Radeon HD 5870 or NVIDIA 295 GTX
ask lang po..
migrating from gts 250 1gb ddr3 to Ati HD6820 1gb ddr5..
rendered one same scene pero sa timing nya, mabiis pa ng 3min ang 250..
newbie sa Ati baka kailangan ko ng new drivers ng catalyst?
stable lang sya sa max2010=)
