QUICK MONTAGES
First topic message reminder :
A sampling of our cheapy interior photomontage works. Done by the Cray's team and a few of our valued Cebuano friends.
And I think this has been posted here already. Nevertheless:
Love thy nEVERMOTION!

Re: QUICK MONTAGES
Thanks everyone!.
Muggz all images you saw were done with max and of course rendered with vray. Photoshop was also used to adjust few of the textures and to perform minor compositing. Some of these even came out straight from a vray render.
I am sure that this is also possible using other 3d applications but I can only expand on how we do it in max. To be honest I don't think there is anything fancy about the workflow but I will document this or perhaps ask cray and group to demonstrate. Now that I think of it - it will probably take more time to write a document or tutorial than actually do the montage.
I know I've promised to write about a bunch of topics in the past and haven't been prompt. I'll try to do it as soon as I find time.

sir, hindi ko po makita ang images dito sa location ko, paki mirror naman if possible.. thanks in advance..
Re: QUICK MONTAGES
Thanks for sharing sir vertex very inspiring indeed.
Please do enlighten us on the process of this in V-ray because I know of the mental ray equivalent.
This is where the Production Shaders of MR come in. And it was discussed shortly on sir Edosayla's tutorial. I'll try to write the MR process when time permits.

I believe this is more of a photomatch since there is no movement to do a camera match. The way I see it, to composite 3d objects into a picture, you need to import the pic onto the 3d software and place the lights according to the location of the sources. You then have to put your models and invisible surface materials on the walls and floor so they would receive shadows and reflections. This is how it's done in Maya and I would love to see how it's done in Max bro Verts

Thanks Logic, I am sure it is pretty similar - and MR as well can probably benefit from the same technique. I'll try to make time this weekend to come up with something. I wil lprbably becoem an edosayla fan - he's been reaching to a lot of people (which I cannot do) so he gets my support as well.

I'd probably call this "Perspective Match. There really is nothing fancy about it. I'm sure matching be done in just a few minutes by eye.

Nobody could have explained it better than Alice. Yes, that's just how it was done.

v_wrangler wrote:I am sure that our people are humbled by all your praises. To be honest, these projects were designed to be very quick and chipipay. And I feel really embarrassed at all your praises. No disrespect to my staff in manila and the other freelancers.
We don't have time for あcamera match so its all mano-mano. We're not too strict either as long as it looks and feel close to the crappy BG photos. I could imagine that it will take perhaps a day or half a day per image if you really make tutok.
As for matching - it all boils down to practice - but hey the other artists that did this - they never had time to prepare.
The process can be summed as :
1. mano match
2. shell the walls/floor plane that can be seen by the camera.
3. Design the space like an interior decorator (make that nevermotions work!)
4. Light it
5. Hocus pocus
6. Render
7. Deliver
So it means - its not really difficult and I am willing of course to teach you all how to do it.
still, these are freakin awesome works sir!!
