Quick Interior and my first try with LWF
A friend asked me to make a simple interior suggestion of his boss' house. Pana yung boss niya, walang floor plans na binigay. Just a picture for me to work on. Since libre ito, i decided to try my hand on LWF. Hope i got it right, as this is my first try. Mabilisan ko lang din itong ginawa, as i am busy with some other things, kaya bihira na lang din ako makapag 3d ngayon.
3dsmax2009, vray 1.5sp4, and minor photoshop edits. c and c are welcome.

uy, thanks sir....test pa lang...still learning...i'm used to the old school way of doing things in 3dsmax and vray kasi. Trying to teach myself some new tricks with regards to rendering.

Will conduct some more tests...back to old work flow muna ako sa mga pending kong 3d works, kasi matagal ko na ginagawa, di ko pa tinatapos.

Malalim na rin ang pundasyon mo sa 3d sir Ed, so I knew kagad mo makukuha.. The real trick with LWF is how to get the right contrast since it kinda makes the scene a bit bland.. And the amount of tuts on the net won't help to ease the learning process.. Find the right blend for you & you're set..
Nice one master Arkied..

Well, medyo matagal tagal na din tito cloud...sa modeling, there are still a few items left for me to work on, dito talaga sa rendering, still on the process of learning and re-lrearning everything. For this image, i used exponential as my color mapping setting, with the following values: 2.4, 1.0, 2.2. I might try using idol celes' exponential setting with gamma at 2.2, and see if i could still produce that high contrast output, that i used to come up with in the normal process, and with standard cameras at that.
For this scene i went all the way, vraysky, vraysun, vraycamera, and LWF. As you know, i still don;t use the vray cams for my normal workflow, as the standard cams are much quicker for me to setup.
But hopefully, i'll get the hang of this as i go deeper in the LWF mystery.
I know this is getting quite long, hehehe...Thanks for dropping by...

of course.
We are all here to learn from each other. Feel free to send out your comments. Be aware that this is merely a test on the LINEAR WORKFLOW, aversis method.
By the way, i was supposed to add a carpet for the scene, but, knowing it would take a bit longer to render, i opted not to, as this was just one of those non-commissioned jobs. In short, wala po itong bayad, kaya napagtripan na lang aralin yung LWF, para naman may pakinabang siya. hehehe.

thanks you mentioned... i often get memgaps every once in a while...
anyhow, i'll fire away [not so much in rendering] after your motion...
"what i find evocative"
- agree with sir bokkkins... i think a lot of peeps struggles with whites.
but your marshmallow couches, that looks fine even without pillows!
thanks for sharing what could solve the prob....
- Wood Flooring - need i say more? better than matimco products!
- plant looks real! i just dont see any interesting shadows at the wall yet
- when i first saw first pic and how your window turned out, i thought,
"Oh, interesting play of frost and clear glass fixed window. like it!"
then i saw the second pic. and you got a jalousie. i went "Wow mali..."
"what i find provocative"
- Lamp shade: as i see the window sill, lamps height seems let's say at 4ft?
also, i tried looking for the vanishing point. i suppose man's eye view
but not the type of Mahal or Mura. i think at that view, i should see the top.
the base also looks invisible glass, too, that it almost look like levitating lamp.
- Drapes: in my eyes reminds me of Tobleron esp when i first saw the "cuts."
i think it'll look more homey when you make the folds a little softer or rounder
rather than what my lola calls soaked in "almirol" [dunno if you heard it before]
- Shadows of drapes at far left and the far right seems really weird to me, sir...
i could hardly figure out what light source and opening would naturally generate it.
- your drapes sir looks really limited in budget. it kind of distracts me seeing it hanging.
to me, the flow of the colors would better if i see it almost touching the ground.
- Seat Arrangements: you got two sizes of windows and two sizes of sofas
i just find the longer couch a bit off balance. perhaps "change court" looks nicer.
i think it'll look better beside the 4-panel window than the 3-panel one
- i wonder how you can make that mid corner a little less dark. i'd like to scrub it in real life....
- i like the simple drop lighting fixture but personally, i dont like it right there at the center.
once it got lit, it'll make me feel the night of the lunatics has come - full moon.
that's all for now!
btw, you how did you know what i was about to say - the rug??? are you a psychic!
in short, good thing vray po napagdiskitahan ninyo. [did i say that right? - hehe]
you i think you got it almost there... rendering surely looks 95% convincing... TFS

Re: Quick Interior and my first try with LWF
@M_shadows:
all comments noted mam.
first off...there is only one light source and that is a vray sun outside of the room. Still figuring out how to make it even look better, with the settings.
The curtains...i wish i could make one that looks better, but that would require me to do a cloth simulation which is time consuming. Some use pre-modelled evermotion curtains, but that's not the point here, i just decided to put a simple one, since this is a quickie, and a free one at that. Pro-bono kung baga, sayang ang kuryente kung wala ka palang kikitain, hehehe.
Anyway, thansk for the comments..that sure helped me in a way..
Cheers!
