Hi pipol. It's been a while since I last posted some of my works here sa CGP. I decided to concentrate more on 3d video game art. Eto na din magiging official thread ko dito (haha, may ganon?!). I'll post all my finished 3d game arts here.

sa sketchup pwedeng gamitin yung normal map as dispalcement pero sa rendere na yun.
sa tutorial alam mo hindi talaga sa pagalingan makukuha yan, i have seen a lot of magaling pero madamot... people always appreciate those guys with kind heart na willing magshare ng knowledge. maaring you think kakarampot lang pero ang impact nito lalo na sa mga baguhan ay matindi. mind you we are not sharing really to those who are magaling na hindi nia kailangan yun. but yung mga pausbong na palaging magiging appreciative yan..
so kahit na mapaworkflow, kaunting hints jan, tips..etc. is appreciated. thinks like kung paano mag sculpt ng symmetry. sa lahat madali yun. pero nung ako naku katakut takut na basa ng mga resources bago nakita hehehe.
we really want the zbrush section to gain momentum. i knew pressure had one and we love it, pero pang advance na hehehehe. so again, its nice if there are some tutorial to encourage, newbies...

Yes dude pareho tyo ng insight about that. Ayoko din sa magaling nga, pero d nmn willing mg-share ng ideas or knowledge. Prang basketball yan eh, magaling nga buwakaw nmn. Ge dude, pg ntapos ko tong character na to I'll do a tutorial or cgro overview kng pano ko sya ginawa. From start to end, share ko un workflow ko.

First bake test.. Normal map + ambient occlusion map applied to low poly.. Low poly is about 7k tris for now..

Salamat dude. Actually, everything about his armor and shoes, sa maya ko gnwa. Sub-d modeling lng. In-export ko lng sa zbrush pra ma-smooth, d kc kaya ng maya mg-handle ng sobrang daming polys. Ung kanyang fes and clothings lng gnwa ko sa zbrush.

Update. Finally textured him. I made a lot of changes on his design. Sorry for the rough presentation. I'll post more images soon once I've posed him. Enjoy. Oops, I forgot the back view.

More images pa mga dude. Almost finished na sya, kaso I just have to dirt him up a bit especially in the shoes and jacket area. I also have to push those verts na ngpapasablay sa kanyang silhouette. Post pa ko iba pa mga images pg napose ko na sya, sa ngayon eto lang muna.
Eto ung specs nya: About 9k tris for the body, 1.5k tris for the wrench. Sayang lumagpas ng 10k in total. Tapos I used a 2048 D-N-S map sa body tapos 1024 nmn sa wrench.

Here's a new character I'm working on. Planning him to be a retro gangster (hopefully he'll end up like that).
Been messing around with him for 4 days. So far, here's what I've got. Still very much wip.

for me parang may problema sa proportion ng character mo ser.
wala namang problema sa modeling, ung proportion lang ata..
- wider torso, siguro??
- its either malaki ung lower parts, or maliit ung torso..
- a little note sa texture ng face, sana di naka-sungit ung kilay..

@Akira: Salamat sa crit dude. Siguro mukha lang sya malapad dahil sa armor nya or bka medyo sablay yung perspective ng camera. Tingnan ko din ibang comment na makuha ko dito ska sa polycount/gameartisans bago ko sya i-adjust. Regarding sa angle ng kilay, oo medyo napasungit din ata. Yun din ang crit saken nang pinost ko sya sa ibang forums. Pero madali nmn baguhin ung facial expression, animatable nmn topology nya eh. Hehe. Thanks ulet dude.

Beauty shot ng mechanic, simpleng simple lang.. Transpose master pla ng zbrush gnamit ko sa pagpose hehe..

Salamat idol!! Inspired lang sya sir ni Thor.. Medyo binago ko lng ng onti ska ngdagdag ng ibang ideas.. Wla tlga ako sariling concept art, banu ako sa 2d drawing eh hehe..
Btw idol, sana sali kayo sa upcoming Unearthly Challenge.. Sasali din ata si sir Jeff MD dun eh.. Nakita mo na ba entry nya ngyn sa comicon challege? I think he has a great chance to win again..

Sa gameartisans.org sir.. Kaso di pa ata up ung site nila para sa conetst na un, d pa kc tapos comicon.. D ko alam exact date sir, check mo nlng lage un site nila. Un unearthly challenge pla eh game environment art contest.. Mainly 3d and 2d categories..

Wooohooh.. Isa pang idol oh..
Hehe d ako nakasali sa comicon, kelangan ko kasing tapusin game portfolio ko eh, kelangan ko na mgtrabaho.. Hopefully next year.. Ska sa ibang game art competitions.. C pongstah nag-quit na din sa comicon, d n nya daw mttapos. Syang nga eh.
Goodluck sayo and sa ibang pinoy sa comicon, malakas entry mo as always.. And sa upcoming unearthly challenge na din..

Thanks for stopping by dude.. Yeah, I have to improve the forms and proportions thingy every time I work. I'll just keep on improving. But I'll call this one done and move on to another project.
As for the assymetrical details, my works are intended to be game assets. Meaning, less texture space. As much as possible you have to put everything into one texture. So some parts need to be symetrical to maximize the limited texture space.

Hehe, d nmn.. Sa marmoset toolbag sya rendered, free software to na pang in-game preview, eto ung link bka gsto mo itry http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?t=61346.. Most game artist yan ang gamit pang preview ng game model nila. Kahit sa mga game art competitions yan dn ang gamit.
D kc ako marunong mag-render sa mental ray or kht vray.. Ska mas gsto ko ung realtime render..
About dun sa texture, ginaya ko lang sa mga ibang game artists kng pano i-unwrap ung mga uv's nila. Pati ung pagpaint ng textures ganun din. Talagang more on gaya lang tlga hehe, wla kc formal education d2 sa pinas about game art.
Ganun din gawen mo dude, wag mo lang bsta tingnan gawa ng iba, i-observe mo dapat saka pg-aralan. Like kung ano ung mga bagay na ngpapaganda sa gawa nila and ano un difference ng gawa mo sa gawa nila. Ako honestly, I still have a long way to go. Kaka-start ko lng dn mg 3d cgro mga one year plng and ang dame ko pa dpt i-improve and gstong matutunan. Every project is a learning experience. Bsta gawa ka lng ng gawa tapos tapusin mo. Ska dpt alam mo kng ano tlga gsto mo, like kng anong klaseng 3d(for films ba or games, pre-vis, etc). I hope this helps.
