Get your cameras ready! It’s time to start taking photographs that you think capture the spirit and essence of Abu Dhabi. Competition entries are now being accepted for Abu Dhabi Through Your Eyes, the annual photography competition organised by The Office of the Brand of Abu Dhabi. You can submit your entry at one of 19 drop boxes located across Abu Dhabi.

With no set categories in the competition, the winning image of Abu Dhabi through Your Eyes 2009 could be anything from a modern cityscape to something that represents our unique heritage and culture. Perhaps you will feel inspired by our unique architecture, by a cultural event, by Liwa’s majestic sand dunes or by Al Ain’s green oases. Whatever you decide to submit, we want to see Abu Dhabi through your eyes. Need inspiration? You can check out the 2008 Winners Photography Tour.

We are offering cash prizes for the 10 winners, who will be selected by our panel of judges, consisting of professional photographers and experts selected by OBAD. The winning images will all become part of our permanent collection of photography which we use to showcase Abu Dhabi to the world.

The deadline for the competition is 31 October 2009.

4th Prize AED 15,000
5th Prize AED 12,000

In addition the five semi-finalists will receive a cash prize of AED 10,000 each.

How to enter

Submit your unpublished photographs at one of the drop boxes we have placed across Abu Dhabi. Here’s where you can find them:

Terms & Conditions

1. Participants must submit entries with a completed competition entry form firmly secured to the back of their photograph and sealed in an envelope and then submitted in the any of the drop boxes that are placed in prominent locations around the emirate of Abu Dhabi starting from 1st April 2009.
2. Photographic entries must be submitted by 6pm on 31st October 2009. Late entries will not be accepted.
3. Participants can submit a maximum of three photographs. Please note that each photograph requires a separate entry form with all entries placed together in one envelope.
4. Incomplete entry forms or absence of required information may disqualify the entry.
5.

Entries must be submitted as a digital file on a CD or memory stick together with a print (no larger than A4 size).
* The name, email address and telephone number of the entrant must be written on the reverse of each print.
* The digital image must be of sufficient size and resolution for the judges to assess the sharpness and quality of the image (we recommend a minimum of 1800 x 2700 pixels) and not less than 300 dpi. Entrants may crop images before submission. Mobile phone shots will be disqualified from the competition.
* Prints/photographs must be free of any borders, watermarks or signatures and must not be digitally enhanced. Normal balancing and toning of a digital image is allowed, other electronic alterations or manipulations to images are not permitted.
6. Entry forms are available from www.brand.abudhabi.ae.
7. The competition is open to both professional and amateur photographers.
8. Submitted photographs must be the work of the applicant and must not have been previously published.
9. Photographers must be a UAE citizen or resident, and must be over the age of 16.
10. Winners will be notified by phone or email.
11. Winning entries must agree to provide OBAD the copyright of the winning images in exchange for the prize value. OBAD reserves the right to use photography of winners in the promotion of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a tourist or investment destination.
12. Any commercial entities wishing to use winners’ photographs for commercial purposes will negotiate a separate usage fee directly with the winners (through OBAD).
13. The decision of the judges is final.
14. Entries will not be returned after submission to OBAD.

sir AUSTRIA, sali po kayo..lahat nng andyan sa Abu dhabi... wala namn yan sa pagiging pro...hehehe.
nasa judges pa rin yan.hehehe. I'll try sumali.. total October pa naman ang final submital.

Nakita ko na to, naunahan mo ko bro cubi....ang bibigat ng mga kalahok dito, nakita ko yung last photo....wow na wow talaga....anyway, gudlak posa lahat nga sasali...(sasali din ako, malay natin) hehehehe

nanalo last year Makta Bridge....wowww talaga....ang iba nag hire pa ng Helicopter para lang makapag shoot.....

makasali nga...kaso lang wala pa akong prof cam...hayyyyyy
