Quick Specular Blooms in 3dsmax Empty Quick Specular Blooms in 3dsmax

In response to a query by reggie, Specular Blooms can be done out-of-the-box in max as well. While I won't suggest it in place of Photoshop - for the sake of argument - yes it can be done. If you don't mind the hit and miss thing with parameters.

Quick Specular Blooms in 3dsmax DSC_1882

1. Apply a blur filter .Set Blur Type to Uniform.
2. Pixel Selections to Luminance. Brighten is the amount or strength. Minimum value is like the threshold. Higher values will restrict the blur to the brightest areas only. Feather is the falloff range.

Use interactive Preview when setting parameters. You've got two choices for Brightening. Additive or Multiplicative. The latter translates to the dreamy effect. Sample above was Additive.

slamat sir... malaking tulong toh.. actually sir.. im practicing my self not to use photoshop hnggt maaari... specially sa lighting and other effects...
wana now how far can studio max can giv... 2thumbsup
