Autocad > Set Layout Scale
How to set the scale if I draw in Layout with the same dimension in model space? Example if I would draw a rectangular column in layout let say 500 x 500 mm what is the proper issuing of command? Thank you in advance.

sir bakit kelangan unahin mag drawing sa lay-out?at panong parehas sir? example 500 x 500mm rectangular sa lay-out kelangan 500 x 500mm din sa model space?

try this: first & foremost the standard unit of drawing is in millimeter (mm) so that you can do the unts / scale more accurately: (my preference dimension is "MM" either i am doing in cad or in 3dmax & even in photoshop
type "ddunits" & select millimeter the after type "op" for option under "user preference ----> then insertion units must be set to millimeter (both)...
example: in model space, let me say you draw a rectangle at a dimension of 500X500MM (create rectangle "rec" and input @500,500) if you want to get the actual size of 500 X 500 MM in paper space or in printing (you might probably use A1 paper) input a command as follows:
1. set paper size example select A1 paper you may use "DWG TO PDF" plotter (if you don't have a bigger printer to print the A1 paper size)
2. in paper space, create a viewport ( type: mv or mview)
3. within the viewport go inside model space (in paper space mode) type "z" for ZOOM then input the desired scale let say
(1:1) 1/1xp (1:2) 1/2xp (1:50) 1/50xp (1:100) 1/100xp (1:1000) 1/1000xp & so forth... corresponding to your dimension in model space ... the lock viewport... & print....
sample of complex viewport----->https://s1109.photobucket.com/user/rheinfell/media/ENTROOM_PP1_LATEST.jpg.html
hope it can helps...

--next go to layout space. use the viewport toolbar if autocad classic ang workspace mo. i believe alam mo na palabasin mga toolbars. just make sure you position it horizontally kasi kapag vertical di lalabas yung viewport scale control which is very useful sa pag-assign ng viewport scale o ratio. layout tab naman kung drafting ribbon ang workspace.
--ex. gusto mong iprint sa A4(which is 210x297mm): on the viewport toolbar select 'single viewport' tool. create rectangular viewport na para ka lang nag-i-scketch ng rectangle. I always prefer to put my viewport on the 0,0 origin so instead of specifying the 1st corner I type in @0,0 enter, then type @210,297 enter. may viewport ka na na A4 size. though you can sketch any size you want it doesn't matter 'cause of the next steps.
--select your created viewport or you can also double click inside the viewport, at the viewport toolbar choose your desired drawing scale sa viewport scale control(white box which will drop the scale lists if you click the drop down arrow). you can also type in at your num pad the desired scale for ex. 1/100 intead of typing 1:100. or pwede mo rin gamitin annotation scales sa mga toolbars mo sa baba ng autocad UI. adjust your viewport if needed.
yan ang gamit ng layout space. create more viewports showing your column pero set different viewport scale on each viewports. then draw your 20x30" paper by converting it in mm or any paper size in mm kasi mm mo ginawa yung column mo. di gagana viewport scales mo kung di match ang gamit mong units sa model at layout(di pwedeng metric sa model tapos imperial sa layout or vice versa. kasi di gagana viewport ratio/scale mo. im sure aware ka tungkol sa scales.) i-arrange mo mga viewports sa paper mo tapos print mo lang na 1:1 sa plot dialog.
that's the basic. using sheet sets naman ang advanced parang revit
hth!

Re: Autocad > Set Layout Scale
