About using Solid State Drive (SSD)
I have an SSD for more than a year now. I just recently discovered that by using an SSD, you should set it to AHCI mode rather than IDE. Anyone here using SSD? Did you experience boost in the performance?

Re: About using Solid State Drive (SSD)
definitely AHCI mode to maximize the features of your SSD specially if your SSD is SATA3 capable.
Download the AS SSD Benchmark free software to compare the difference between IDE and AHCI. The higher score you will got, the better.
IDE is for HDD only bro.

Re: About using Solid State Drive (SSD)
based on your benchmark bro, it says your Corsair SSD is SATA 2.
if the read and write is below 300MB/s then its SATA 2, if above 300MB/s, its SATA 3.
We almost got the same score man. I'm using Intel 330 series SSD. I got a score of 364.

Re: About using Solid State Drive (SSD)
Thanks for the info sir, its almost 5months na gumagamit na pala ako ng SSD, :)ngayon ko lang to naiintindihan ang term. nakaset up na kasi ang pc nung dinala nila dito sa office. kaya pala kahit anong bigat ng files ang bilis iopen at ang ganda ng performance nya. it takes seconds only to open & shutdown as well as lot of GB's file transfer & copying. thanks sir!
Re: About using Solid State Drive (SSD)
I just recently upgraded my Asus G73SW laptop from sata II to sata III SSD along with Windows 8 x64bit OS.
it only takes 10-15 seconds opening an empty Autocad and 3DsMax 2014 Program. Less than 6 seconds opening a CS6 PS and AI programs.
and herewith are the scores that I have got...
this is how to check if your SATA controller is in AHCI mode if your using SSD.

Re: About using Solid State Drive (SSD)
bro, nasagot na ni Mokong, check mo post niya..zdesign wrote:pano mag swith to AHCI and di ko mapalabas yong bench mark
pero sige mas elaborate ko pa para sa lahat...
Switching from IDE to AHCI sata Controller for SSD users:
1. Press "windows key + R"
2. Type regedit
3. Navigate the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Msachi
4. Change the value of the word "start" to zero (0)
5. Shutdown your PC
6. Fire it up again, then go to your BIOS Setup
7. Locate the SATA Configuration or SATA Controller or disk Mode.
8. Then change the existing IDE mode to AHCI
9. Save and Exit.
Yung AS SSD Benchmark, free software lang yun bro, sobrang liit na file.
download mo sa link na ito...

Re: About using Solid State Drive (SSD)
pwede tol, CLONING.JVT_Ltd wrote:what if ililpat yun os and all programs without reinstalling? hdd to ssd? any info?
Sure kang malinis lahat, mabilis and no virus.
Pwede naman ilipat yung legit OS mo from previous HDD to new SSD.
