Solid State Drive
What do you think about SSD? mga katrabaho ko naka-SSD..worth daw bilhin kahit na mahal! 32gb nasa almost $100. kulang para sa OS and programs..pero super bilis daw...7 secs boot start sa windows 7. mas ramdam daw ang i7 sa SSD.. pero the price nga yari tayo..
ano sa tingin nyo?

Re: Solid State Drive

Re: Solid State Drive
I already did a thread about SSD last year though none seems to be interested, heres my thread:
http://www.cgpinoy.org/techie-corner-f26/solid-state-drive-are-becoming-mainstream-t7104.htm
Yes they are match against Velociraptors, & very rugged and the best of it SSD don't heat-up under full load

OT:
you had your Q9650 pala sir, its a very rare processor. you can sell it for 11kPHP and buy a i7 procie that costs 11kPHP as well.

yup, SSD's dimension is 2.5" only, but theres a mounting bracket para ma fit siya sa 3.5" HDD bay, or there are third party computer chasis that has already a SLOT for SSD's like Cooler Master HAF-X and Antec DF-85 Full Tower chasis.
asteeg talaga SSD's.
- no moving or rotating objects inside unlike HDD
- very small and light weight, its portable no need to worry because its solid.
- daig pa niya ang WD Velociraptor. and walang sinabi ang Velociraptor sa write speed at temperature when at OC Load.
- environment friendly because tipid siya sa kuryente------ Power Consumption : 1.25W SSD (HDD:7~9.5W)
- you will really feel the speed of your computer using SSD rather than upgrading your RAM

Thankyou sir kaso wala pang budget for i7, pero may plan na ko for my next RIG, yet still my Q9650 on p5Q is very dependable.

Di naman sir kahit mag double layer nang anti virus mabilis pa rin, pati pag format & re-install ng OS

The idea of SSD is based sa RAM or memory.. Kaya I agree kung upgrade to SSD than memory. But upgrading your ram too helps a lot on loading things lalo na kapag doing graphics. If you add more RAM to your computer, you reduce the number oftimes your CPU must read data from your hard disk. so its like helping hand! gaya ng cgpinoy!

Re: Solid State Drive
Check out Tipid PC. Last time I checked 80GB is worth 12k. Not so bad for the price thinking that before it was 30k and above.
It is an investment. I hope the price will go down by the end of the year.
There is another Memory Drive similar to this. FUSION IO kaso sobrang mahal. Check it out. Mga $1000 ata.
Link: http://www.fusionio.com/products/ioxtreme/
BTW. You don't need a very large capacity of SSD. Memory that is enough to store your programs will be fine. Just buy another 1TB HHD for your storage and library.
