big file size and merging problem

big file size and merging problem
a pleasant day to everybody.
anyways, our concerns are as follows:
First item, a 32.6mb 3dsmax file which contains just the building structure becomes 100 plus mb when an object is merged from another file. That merged object came from a file whose size is 212mb. even deleting that merged object, the file size of the current working file remained big. what could possibly happened?
Second item, one of my files has the following statistics: (actually this one is the biggest)
polys: 252,056
verts: 127,888
file size: 653mb
is that normal? The area of the building is: 37.00m x 26.5m
Third item, when opening or closing for example that 653mb file, it usually takes some time to open or close.
we are using 3dsmax 2013 and vray for 2013.
our cpu specs are: intel i7 3.40ghz, 16gbRAM, 2gb nvidia geforce gtx 680 (where windows 7 dxdiag reads it as 4gb)
i made an observation by opening that big file then deleted the maps, nothing happened; or deleted everything inside except the building, still nothing happened to reduce the file size. i read about refreshing the file, the file just decreased by an amount not that significant and the experience is still the same when opening, saving or closing it.
i cannot insert the screenshot for you to see. tell me how anyway.
please help us on this
regards

Re: big file size and merging problem
Thank you very much pedio84.
Success! Just tried it recently.
But can you give us the reason behind? Yes, we have that script as a solution, but for us not to arrive at that situation again, we wish to have some sort of advice or pointers. Because for 8 years, i think this is the first time we encountered such. So how can we avoid it?

Re: big file size and merging problem
Hi sir, I can't really tell what exactly behind those bugs, but as I have read from the site where I got the script ,they said that the reason behind it were from the merged objects that may contain a note track. In my experience preventing those bugs to happen , I'm applying this script to the file that I'm suspecting that may cause my scene to save longer than normal before merging it.
