exr file shows silhouette in photoshp

Hi guys

I have been doing a rendering saved as an exr file and once I start editing in photoshop and changing the mode to 8bits a silhouette always shows up.

It's very apparent once I introduce a background layer behind it. Render output looks fine but can't get rid of the silhouette.

Any information would be highly appreciated. Cheers.

you try defringe in photoshop?

Don't have them with me at the moment. It's an exterior rendering. Like any other exr file backgrounds are not part of the final render so what happens is that where the image and blank background meets there appears a line which is the silhouette. Anti aliasing is on and it's a high render output. Never had this problem before. Thanks.

Will try to defringe in PS. Thanks. But any others solution within vray would be great.

or aside from defringe in PS, if you have render elements like wirecolor,
you can erase the unwanted background from your base render.
