Help: Importing CAD Model to 3ds Max Problem

hello to all the masters..i just want to ask na pls help me.ksi begginer plang me, how can i render ung inimport q from autocad na nak-3d..di ba po parang nakagroup xa.pag kinulayan m,buong surface e same color even ung loob. i just want to assign different materials on different sides..pls.help..salamat.

assign diferent layers mam sa cad,,pgdating sa max pick by layer ka nlng and apply mo na gusto mong maps...

gawin mo file>file link manager ba un, tpos hanapin mo ung option na may by entity, wala kc 3d max d2 sa pc na 2 e kaya d ko maalala

Hello mam! Dpat kapg gumagawa k ng modeling s cad, by layer dapt ng object mo pra pag inimport mo sa max ang entity nya is by layer din.. mas madali k magassign ng materials sa max..

if it is imported na sa max... it will be converted into editable mesh sa max by default. under selection stack sa modifier option, select POLYGON. now you can select faces of your model and assign materials accordingly... I hope this will help... Good luck po...

I would suggest na sa Max ka na lang gumawa ng model at magg-apply ng materials and if you really wanted to work in ACAD make sure isang layer lang para madali ang pag import sa 3DMAX....hope it will help you in some ways

I must disagree on you sir 3dzone... working with different layers on CAD is so very helpful in terms of material texturing application in MAX... assigning only 1 layer could be a disaster...

[b]I'm using ACAD not for modeling, I'm using it for tracing only that's why I turning it into 1 layer only....I'm doing my Modeling directly from MAX...sorry but so far I'm doing it so good.

Sorry po mam sa suggestion ko...ignore nyo na lang po

im doing the same way as 3dzone do... layout in cad i import them as one layer (2d layouts only).. but for doing 3d in cad.. u must assign every 3d in diffrent layer base on der materials like sir cloud said... and also if u dont want to go back to autocad to edit it.. u cn also assign multiple materials in one object in max or rather one layer in cad.. by using multisub material.. by editing it in edit mesh modifier.. click the polygon u wnt to chnge then assign the id number ul gona use base on the multisubmaterial uv made.. i hope nkatulong

i model niyo sa cad sir/mam tapos file link manager niyo .. every object its up to you just organize them by different layer

Wait lng po gagawan ko ng video tutorial para mas lalong ma intendihan.. as of now tama yung mga sinasabi nila sa taas try mo lng muna .. anyway pag natapos ko na ang tutorial post ko agad.. have a great day!

If it is too late na at asa max kana... ok tong process na to mam, i'm doing the same, but in addition to this, collapse lang to mesh again after UVW mapping para sa scale ng material mo.. but next time, try to layer them separately... I hope nakatulong po.. God BLess...

jz want to ask help poh regarding sa pag import ng cad file sa 3dmax
using file link manager
how can i use file link manager para mging perfect ung curve ng isang object pag nasa max na kasi nagkakaroon poh xa ng corners

1. On file link manager, after you have attached the files, go to reload , be sure you have highlighted reload options

2. then on reload option follow this image.
