At 1100 SGD for accomodation why work abroad??

I'm just replying without the intention of dissing the ad posted.
I'm just so surprised at the cost of living there, of which none of us here will have any control. I'm just so curious as to why one would prefer leaving the philippines for an expensive life abroad. Of course I know kailangan ng trabaho but I'm sure there are still plenty back home.

On a side note - expenses for living abroad will dictate how much one should at least earn - my simple computation for a convenient life would be three times the expenses for subsistence. One must earn at least thrice of what you spend for subsistence. Without that, you will be as helpless and poor and lonely and battered. Kung ganon din lang, better stay with family in the Philippines, mahirap man ang buhay di matutumbasan ang magkakasama - sa hirap o ligaya...

Medyo mataas nga ng konti pero baka maganda naman ang location and building condition. Usually 600-800 w/o pub.
Singapore is a bit expensive nowadays. Nasa top 10 na sya ng most expensive cities of the world.

Pero kung tutuusin, 1100US SG, around 70000yen, is already a studio type room in tokyo na solo mo. Halos pareho lang naman range ng salary sa singapore and japan.

Sir V..nakalagay po dito (1 COMMON ROOM (available) –1100sgd w/o PUB (3 pax)ibig sabihin tatlo po sila sa kwarto..366.66 sgd lang sila each.hindi kasama ang PUB.ang PUB nasa more or less 50sgd lang naman ang isang buwan.

super expensive na talaga rito. before one can rent a condo room (no sharing) for only S$500. and that includes internet and PUB na. that's in the city area.. during 2009-2010 biglang dumoble lahat ng property rates so ayan. super inflation

correct ka jan vertex. a lot of my friends have left the country - either went back to manila or relocated somewhere else.

mga sir pasensya po..humihingi lng ng tulong na maghanap na lilipat sa min..room for rent po sya for 3 pax hindi po isang tao ay 1100sgd sharing po sya..

WOW in just less than 2 years tumaas na kaagad ang price ng ganito for an HDB room? Dati yung rent ko (2011) was 900 WITH PUB in a Condo sa Simei near Expo... Unbelievable....

Sorry po kabayan, namamangha lang po ako sa prices... especially since the locals are hating the foreign workers who in fact is giving them a livelihood.
