Innovating Standard Design of Public Schools

Hello CGPinoy! bago lang po ako dito sa forum... bali ni-refer po ako ng friend ko na maganda daw po magpaconsult dito ng thesis proposals kaya po ito, I hope marami pong makapag comment at crit dito sa thread ko po...

My thesis is about public school design, particularly Junior High and Senior High...(k-12) gusto po namin sanang mag introduce ng innovated standard design ng school para sa future public school development sa Pilipinas, (applicable din po sana ito sa existing school design,)

Problem:
marami po akong article na nabasa about the effects of proper lighting, temperature and environment to the behavior of students inside the room... studies show that proper lighting in classrooms leads to higher performance of the students, ganoon din po sa temprature and learning environment...
ito na rin po ang turning point sana para makapag apply ng green and sustainable features sa mga public structures..(so parang simulan natin sa public schools ang application para maging aware din ang mga studyante sa mga gantong tech..)

gusto din po namin sanang mag introduce ng other use of school bukod sa evacuation which is mainstream...

IDEA 1:
unang idea po namin ay makacontribute ang designed environment ng school namin sa open space ng municipality or town...(with regards to the problem of lack of open spaces for social activities dito sa Pinas) so parang part ng development ay magiging park or something na open sa public pero it contributes to both learning ang social needs...

IDEA 2:
isa pa pong idea namin ay mag lagay ng stalls around the perimeter of the school, particularly STUDIOS... studios for commercial use...(with regards to the problem of lack of utilities and equipment for extra curricular activities)
medyo sumasabak po kami dito sa idea kasi parang magiging commercial po ito.... we will let private entities to have business like "Music Studios", "Art Studios", "Martial Arts Gym", "Skateboarding rink", etc....na makakapag nourish ng mga hobbies ng kabataan, na hindi napo-provide ng public schools....hindi rin po namin sure kung ina-allow ba ang gantong klase ng commercial use sa schools.....optional lang naman po itong idea na ito...

ayon po, sana po makapag suggest din po kayo ng mga innovation and new ideas para sa public schools...kung hindi man po sana po kahit criticism po ay tatanggapin namin ng malugod, salamat po!

Parang UP Diliman itong idea mo. Try to visit UP on a regular day, open sya sa public. lalo na dati nung wala pang ID na nakasabit sa leeg, all the buildings are very accessible.

This is a very good idea pero meron din mga drawbacks ito. Pero maganda itong iresearch. siguro focus ka muna sa overall goal mo, then ang mga specifics like lighting, access, system, commercial spaces etc.

Unahin mo muna ang needs then ipasok mo ang wants.

Aralin mo din kung dapat ba public or private school ito. medyo rich kid thinking kasi ang approach mo dito sa pagkaka-explain mo. Although maaring rich kid thinking nga dapat ang approach dito. Yung tipong high end ang approach at unti unting bumababa, mas maganda naman talaga na magsimula ka sa taas pababa kaysa other way around. At least you will be able to define your limits. Good luck!

ako naman mam ang aking payo...parang pup lang din mam dun kasi ko nagaral ....yung walkway mam pinaparent ng pup for commercial use kaya parang isang walkway ng stalls yung mga yun...why not incorporate the idea of the laws of indies (plaza) on your development kasi ginawa yun to center the activities on the plaza para kita ng mga prayle at mga nanunungkulan sa gobyerno kung ano ang nangyayari sa plaza......in lighting lang madalas kong problema noong nagaaral ako kapag nasa left or rightside na ko ng kwarto yung glare ng galing sa pinto or bintana tumatama sa sa board kaya minsan di ko makikita...malabo pa naman mata ko ...tingin ko makarelate sakin yung lahat ng mga nagaaral...why not design the board in a concave manner to lessen the glare to it...share ko lang...goodluck
