architectural thesis HELP- topic:housing

hello po. im 5th year architecture student po at ngayon ay nag reresearch na ko for my thesis, bago lang po ako sa forum site na to madami po kasi ako nababasa about sa problema sa thesis,

baka po pwede ninyo ako matulungan about my thesis proposal, ang balak ko po sana na topic is housing for informal settlers..madami na po ako nabasa dito na mga ganong klaseng topic.

suggestion lang po sana about sa pwedeng concept or title. ang site po na napili ko is san jose del monte city kung saan kadalasan yun po talaga ang ginagawang ressetlement area for informal settlers lalo at katabi lang nya ang quezon city.

sa tingin nyo po fit ba sya para maging thesis prposal at saka baka po pwede nyo ako mabigyan ng kahit onting idea or concept if matuloy ko tong topic na to.

I think everyone is doing the same. Para sa akin, same old problem lang ito at meron the old solution din.

The best way to approach this problem is not by design. You can only do so much on the design side since wala itong budget. Kung meron man ay very minimal.

What you should do is study on how an informal settler can afford this and could help them improve their way of life. Siguro kahit na transient structure lang ito. Kahit saglit lang sila tumira dito, tapos lilipat na sila elesewhere once maafford na nilang tumira sa city. Or pwede din permanent na nila.

Study mo din kung paano magsusurvive ang structure through time. Biggest problem kasi ng mga ganitong settlement ay nagdedeteriorate ang building at ang paligid. Dapat masupport mo ang longterm goal nito.

So far siguro ito ang unahin mo, along the way, mahahanap mo din ang title na gusto mo. It should relate to the research na gagawin mo. Good luck!

ang isang tanong ko pa sana kung kunyari po ay iyung mga informal settlers ay nangaling pa sa quezon city at pinaalis sila sa lugar nila dahil gagawing commercial or any private establishments ng mga big companies ang area na iyon ay may pondo din kaya na mangagaling sa mga company na ito para sa construction ng titirhan ng mga informal settlers.?.medyo wala pa po kasi time kumuha ng mga information sa city hall or any agency sa ngayon...salamat ng madami..

To have a unique Title for your proposal i will advise you "TROPICAL HOUSING" but im not sure if you can support this by all the requirements needed for a tropical design structure and the place itself..I've been a Faculty of Architecture for almost 10 years and nobody try to make this kind of proposal..

Sa tingin ko meron. Pero small amount lang ito. Hindi sya pwedeng source ng pambayad ng pangtayo ng structure mo. Ang pwedeng mangyari is provide them with a livelihood that will eventually pay the rent or (rent to own).

maraming salamat po sa pagsagot sa mga questions ko at sa mga ideas and suggestions nyo mga sir ang kaso lang po mas na approved po ng professor ko yung second choice ko na hospital kaya baka po hindi ko matuloy itong topic na ito. ganun pa man madaming salamat pa rin po

personally, hindi magandang thesis ang hospital, bukod sa gasgas na sya, hindi sya appealing sa mga jurors, not unless you come up with a unique idea or innovation in terms of planning and design. pero kung gusto mo is makapasa lang, okay na rin yan, kasi marami kang makukuhang information about hospital.

nakuha ko tong idea na to sa datin kong prof sa Housing...
...sa dami ng bakanteng building sa city, especially sa manila, siguro magandang isuggest na i improve or irenovate ang ilan sa mga yon para maging housing units,
sa halip na magprovide ng housing sa malalayong lugar, kung saan wala silang mapagkakakitaan kaagad... i think interesting yung idea sir, i just don't know if worthy ba sya pang thesis...

bro good morning.. nice ang thesis mo.. that is a very relevant topic since it is one main problem of the third world countries.. that is an old and a present problem kung baga.. marami naring mga solutions na ginawa para diyan.. pero not all are good solutions.. reasons?? they tend to solve the problem subjectively.. kung mapapansin mu may mga vertical slums na ginagawa worldwide as an aid for that problem.. but the question is did they get the expected result? did there proposed solution solve the problem?? kasi minsan ang mga urban planners together with the government has there own agenda.. or person motives that will only benefit them.. and not the settlers actually.. may nabasa kasi ako na ang magandang solution is when planing a urban renewal perse they must have the consultation of the clients.. who are the clients?? not the private sector, or even the government .. but the informal settlers.. architects, urban planners and the government must cooperate with the informal settlers.. kasi ung mga poor naman talaga ang gagamit ng mga buildings.. try to research ng mga case study about it bro.. marami kang matutunan. good example yung urban renewal na ginawa sa pune, india.. search mo lang.. hope nakatulong ako..
