Architectural Thesis: Socialized Housing project (coastal area)

Dahil malapit po (283m away) sa body of water at nasa coastal area ang site ko (main source of livelihood ng beneficiaries ng project ay mga mangingisda), napili ko pong design focus is climate resiliency (against flood, typhoon, intense heat waves). 

Pero nagdadalawang isip na ako kung possible ba ang climate-resilient pero low-cost (ceiling price is 400,000).
Nagpresenta po ako ng monolithic dome structure sa dalawa kong professors, pero salungat sila ng opinyon. Yung isa tutol, yung isa sumuporta. 

Kaya gusto ko po sana humingi din ng opinyon dito kung okay lang na i-adapt ang monolithic dome structure para sa isang socialized housing project. O stick nalang ako sa conventional na square plan.

Ito ang opinion ko dito sa project mo:

1. First and foremost, medyo mahirap isolve ang flooding sa dome. Dome is very strong on top, pero hindi sa bottom sa case mo. It could have been a good solution pero flooding ang problem ko.

2. Dapat on stilts para maaddress ang flooding. But remember that you are on a budget. Imposibleng mas mura ito kaysa dun ka nakatira sa medyo malayo sa dagat (normal location)

3. Siguro ireseach mo muna kung ano ang mga resilient structures. Tapos i-integrate mo sa design mo. 

4. Or what if hindi individual houses ang iprotect mo kundi ang buong community. That way hindi ka gaano mamoblema sa structures mo. Example gawa ka ng wind protectors o di kaya canal na pwede lumihis ang flood water. or a simple retention pond. 

Yun lang naisip ko sa ngayon. Try to research similar projects and try to develop from it. Good luck!

Hi, papasa naman lahat ang proposal mo as project based. Lahat kasi mga structures lang, tapos planning lang ang pinakachallenge which can be found in any school or the american standard. 

Think of something that will involve research and will benefit the nation. A school will always benefit a nation but think of something wild.

BONPEN
- lahat ng public school should be accessible wherever they are. so isang planning and design project lang ito, which is ok but not special.

The Environment ideal for school
- this is more on a research paper type but could also be done as a thesis, more on surveys ito and human experience. 

UWIDO
- planning and design project but not a standard one, so this could be it. Makiling school for the Arts ang isa sa reference mo dito. There is one like this in HK, maganda mavisit mo din. Check mo ang Hong Kong Design Institute.

Media Library
-this are just all computers or wifi inside a library or maybe a bigscreen, an ok project too but too simple for me.
