@kietsmark
eto nga yun , naisip ko kasi compare yung i7 setup sa mga gamit namin dito na dual xeon, mas mura kasi yung i7 than to buy dual socket board and 2 dual xeon.. investment na din and gaming station ko for 2009.

i know medyo magastos yung ddr3 and "decent" x58 board, pero kating-kati na yung kamay ko dito, wala kasi akong pc pa din dito sa area ko, first build ko sa labas ng pinas, kaya excited.

calling rig noobies: necrolyte,

gusto ko sana makita yung realtime performance against my favorite Q6600.. hehe

un nga palang 14.6k is ung corei7 920 lang hehehe ung high-end na corei7 umaabot daw ng 50k bro whew!
the best talaga ung core2quad bro na release medyo mainit nga lang... yan nga ang mahirap pag walang source ng parts tsk tsk tsk kahit ba gigabyte GA-EX58-EXTREME (UD5) wala dyan bro? ano ba mobo choice mo sana? para magka-idea din ako hehehe

MY OPINION, WHY DONT YOU STAY PUT ON YOUR CORE 2 QUAD, THEN ADD ANOTHER 1 AND ANOTHER ONE AND ANOTHER ONE, 4 CPU'S EQUIVALENT TO 16 BUCKETS. WALAAAAH RENDER FARM HEHEHE. THAT WILL COST AROUND ONLY 1 INTELI7.

bro hanep naman ang post mo... all caps pa talaga... Sad parang galit na galit hehehe good point pero kapag kasi bro nawili ka sa pag-upgrade talagang parang necessity na magkaron ng kung ano ung latest hardwares ng pc... it's like you are using 3dsmax old version pero pag may lumabas na mas latest hindi pwedeng hindi ka rin bibili at gagamit.

YAP YOU HAVE THE POINT SIR, NA KAILANGAN MAG UPGRADE AND I agree with you.

oh wow! based from what i read here, that thing (pentium corei7) is really one hell of a beast.

replacing my core2dual 2.0, 2-gig ddr2, 1gb v card and for upgrade on mboard,
processor & ddr3 nalang & much cheaper lalabas...

i'll save my existing trendsonic black casing with 650watts HEC power supply...
http://www.frontier.com.tw/
matching my ultimate renderer & quad2core buddy with same setup...

sarap nito for deadline purposes...

para yung ginawa sa mga v card to avoid from to much heats causing the fans... i guess magawaan nila ng solution...

agree, murang mura na yan.. pwede naman softmode i7, yung stock na Intel BLKDX58SO nasa 12kphp lang sa pinas, then Kingston na ddr3 na 2gb nasa 6kphp lang.. kaya wala na nga reason to upgrade to 45nm quad skt. 775, pwede na din direct to i7 imho..

@sundance and i7 user..

tingin ko mas applicable ang mag buo ng Corei7 rig if you are building it from scratch and don't have the current one, rather than upgrading your current Quadcore rigs to Corei7. unless you have the money to burn.

in the real world performance, hindi mo naman din talaga mararamdaman ang kinaibahan ng old, new quadcores vs. corei7, aside from hardcore benchmarking. lalo na kung ang ginagamit mo din na program/application ay pare-pareho lang din.

Hi Guys, We have Corei7 sa office, i compared it to our quad6600 its only 20-30% faster. The Mac Pro 8 core is more than 50% faster than the quad6600.

IMHO. If you have q6600 not a big difference to upgrade. it still cannot beat a true 8core, maybe if u get the top of the line Corei7 and OC Smile
