Re: Chair LWF test
if this is what LWF should be then I hate it.
Because it doesn't give justice to the already beautiful layout, composition and furnitures (except the rug which looks too hard to lie on to)
... The thing is - there is very little contrast - in colors in shadings, light distribution and shadows. Too washed out, bland.
Are you sure you didn't over gamma this?
So why do I think that everything else except the camera angles and composition is boring?
That's because the bland lighting (gamma or LWF) does not contribute in making me understand the type of material surfaces there is in the image. This is important for my brain to pick this image up as something convicingly real.
Is the dark arm and foot of the chair made of metal? Is it aluminum? Or is it just a painted wood?
Is the seat cover made of leather? Is it made of plastic or cloth?
Ist the rug a rug made of wool or cotton, does it look like plastic?
Where is the light coming from? Is it comign from the window behind or from the artificial lighting above the ceiling but remain unseen by the camera?
Is that thing behind the chair a cabinet rack or just a wall that's painted balck and white?
Is the floor made of shiny ceramic tiles or wood tiles?
This is not my question to you. This is the question you need to ask yourself when you create your materials and lightings.
If you are able to pinpoint the answer just by looking at the rendered image - then you have done well..
