Re: Rain Effect Using Photoshop
Hey bro, nice initiative, tho the rain effect doesn't look very good and realistic, one thing is because rain doesn't really fall in one angle, size and direction.
If you add a bit of touches to your image it would go the distance.
Try making a raindrop brush, then brush over your image using size, angle and direction jitters (in the Brushes panel), then play around with splatter effects on the ground.
I'd like to share a work of mine using the procedure i just mentioned. Just helping out. Keep on improving bro!

It's fairly simple. First just make sure that your materials are "wet". You can use the blend material of Vray; put the regular texture in the base material and put a very reflective and transparent texture in one of the coatings. You should do this with everything that will get "wet" from the rain. And then render, and proceed to Photoshop.
Then, like I said before, you can make a raindrop brush, or download one. And then use the Jitter option in the Brush Panel, make sure that angles and sizes are at random. Then brush away. Change the brush sizes and opacity to your taste. You can make the "splatters" using a default brush in Photoshop.
Give it a try bro!
