Lineweight Display on Viewport
1. command : LWEIGHT
- tick display lineweight
- then select lineweight you want to display. you may select or may not. number 2 process will do.
or
on your status bar, tick the icon show/hide lineweight, if its not available then right click on the icon there and select lineweight to show its icon on the group
2. then on properties toolbar, under lineweight control, select the lineweight you want to display.
note: normally we assign lineweight to our layers, as long you are using that layer, your lineweight is safe when printed. the reason - the more lineweight display the longer regeneration takes place.

Re: lineweight in autocad 2007
@render master - lineweight na rin pinag-uusapan
possibel po ba 1 object na nakalineweight, iba-iba ang linewieght per layout? e.i. for electrical drawing gaya po ng tanong ni sir korngrain69?

possible naman sir. follow ronzcobella stated.... just choose another lineweight as long show/hide lineweight is enable if not its useless to change. the risk here is when printing

on viewport you cant....unless you bind it or touch the original files, but in printing you can overide it by means of your plotstyle

Re: lineweight in autocad 2007
problem ko rin yang lineweight pag dating sa mga electrical, plumbing etc. kasi nga dapat manipis lang yung sa plan. pano po kung naka xrep or block yung plan at iba-iba ang lineweight nya. kung gagamitin sa mga electrical at plumbing for example, pwedi po bang i override yung lineweight nya sa manipis kahit naka xrep or block sya?

kapag naka-xref naman makikita mo iyong color on its layer, then create a new plotstyle assigning lineweight for each color. and use that plotsyle on printing

Re: lineweight in autocad 2007
ok from sir arkibernz & master sebastianeeron
using xref
1. go to layer properties manager
2. highlight xref
3. select all the layers you want to change (linewieght, linetype, color)
4. then exit.

Re: lineweight in autocad 2007
i mean isang floor plan lang ang gamit ko, for elect, archi, plumbing etc. how can i change yung lineweight ng electrical without affecting yung other plans, ko kasi yung 2010, pag click mo sa loob ng viewport, you have the control to affect lang yung lineweight ng viewport na yun, kasi may option doon sa layer na something like " viewport lineweight ", pag pinalitan mo yung lineweight ng viewport na yun, yun lang affected at di yung ibang viewport. pero di ko mahanap yun sa 2007, so i ended up with two plan one with the thin lineweight and the other with original lineweight. anyways thanks sir. i dont know how to use xref hehehe.... thanks for the reply mga sir.

"VISRETAIN"
i was researching about xref and found this. might help.
note: xref layer colors must be in ByLayer to work. thanks
Let's call the drawing you're x-ref'ing 'Baseplan'. Let's call the
drawing you're bringing the xref into 'A-1'. A-1 is the drawing that is
opened.
Baseplan.dwg contains a layer called 'Walls' that has a continuous linetype and color 2.
A-1 has visretain set to "0" (off).
You change the layer 'Baseplan|Walls' to have a hidden linetype and color 8, save the drawing and reopen A-1.dwg
The walls are back to continuous and color 2.
Now you set visretain to "1" (on) and make the same changes, save and
reopen A-1.dwg. Now the Walls layer stays the way you set it in
A-1.dwg. However, no changes are being made to Baseplan.dwg.
Now, let's say you need all the original layer colors and linetypes back
the way they are in Baseplan.dwg. Simply turn visretain off, save,
reopen and viola! Back to the way the layers are in Baseplan.dwg.

Re: lineweight in autocad 2007
I wonder why you need to chnage thier lineweight since it was just the baseplan...anyway here is the method
1. Established your viewport, say one for electrical and another for plumbing as base to your intention
2. command : VPLAYEROVERRIDESMODE
Enter new value for VPLAYEROVERRIDESMODE <0>: 1
note: if the value = 0 VP will be ignore
value = 1 VP will take into action
3. command : Layerstate
4. Press new, and create a layerstate name. Hit ok
5. On the Layer State manager dialog box, select the layer state you have created, then press edit. On the Edit layer State Box, select the layer of your program, then press lineweight and select the lineweight you wish to use. Hit okay. Do the same thing if you wish to create a new layer state.
6. Now select the activate the viewport you wish to change its state, press layerstate icon on the layer toolbar or just type on the command prompt LAYERSTATE, then on the list select the layerstate you wish to use.
Hope it help, good luck
