vray lighting query
Good day everyone!
I don't know if someone posted already about this pero wala po kasi ako mahanap dito.
Just curious if there's a way to imitate the effect of the vray sun and vray camera using just standard direct lighting and camera. My practical reason, although i'm not sure, is maybe it could shorten rendering time and easier to tweak. I've been trying to do it but i can't get better results, particularly in getting good soft shadows.
Hope someone can help me with this one. Salamat in advance cgp!
posted is the file i'm trying to workout, u can notice sharp and dark shadows.

Re: vray lighting query
Sir, matanong lang ano ba ang gagamitin mong renderer? vray pa rin ba? or scanline or mentalray? if vray pa rin you can, just use the standard direct spot its all in the settings. if specific ka na renderer let us know para matulungan ka.
Re: vray lighting query
Shadows are supposed to be dark. Cop-out way: position the sun/direct light so it casts less shadows. Eyebrow-burning solution: learn Linear Work Flow / Gamma Settings. My dos sentimos.

Re: vray lighting query
deleted my earlier reply, misunderstood your question.
i think it's possible you just need to spend more time tweaking/experimenting on the settings while the vraysun and vray camera's parameters are already simplified for you.

Re: vray lighting query
hhmm i think my explanation is confusing...
I'm using vray renderer but i want to use standard direct lights and standard camera as an alternative to vray sun and vray camera.
thanks again

Re: vray lighting query
for standard direct lights, you just need to set the shadow as 'vray shadow.' standard camera will work but without the zoom, exposure and whitebalance parameters.
