I Attended a mass yesterday. A friend of mine invited me to be one of the "official photographer" for her son's christening at St. Michael's Church here in Singapore.
It has been .. (i think) more than a decade since i last attended a mass inside a church. I was still in Philippines then.

Last year i went with a friend, a best friend, at a church on a weekday afternoon. So she can pray for help and to give thanks. There was no mass as it was a very odd hour of an odd day to held a mass. A church so popular among Filipinos here in Singapore. And i remember commenting about a very distinct smell of the church.

"Amoy carefree ang simbahan"

I silently whispered to her. My friend has to control her laughter at her disgust with me. A church that smells of a pantyliner!!
After a couple of months, my friend got pregnant. Looking back, i guess she prayed for another love and a better life. Guess she got them both. Back then, she was in a very sad and very destructible relationship. They split up. Then she found a new man, who was a lot better than the last one. . I am happy for her.

Three years ago, i met a friend from college at the gym. Two months before i came here. He looked happy. I think he looked contented. Then he invited me to join his "religion". A religion that requires women to wear their hair long, tied it in a bun, and never ever cut it. Where a women requires to wear long skirts and long dress. Those that make you look old and ugly. Where it prohibits consuming 5% volume of alcohol and also prohibits drinking of beer which is also 5%. A religion at prohibits almost everything i grew up with. What i saw was far more different with what was i starting to experience that time. Though i learned a lot from their doctrines. Changing for good must come from within your heart. .

At the homily, the priest was talking about the godparents of the eight babies that were to be baptized.
"You are chosen because there was something in you that their parents find it good. Even if you got a lot of vices, they still trust you with their children, because they know you are a good person"

Imagine hearing that while you are seating beside the parent?
I was seating beside my friend, the mother of one of those babies to be christened.

"Vivian, 'di ba ko mabuting tao?"

I wasn't asked to be one of the godparents, but i was asked to be one of the "official" photographer.
She said I'm a good person, she's saving me for her second child. I know I'm good. I just need to be reminded sometimes. =)

I was in clark quay yesterday afternoon walking around for almost several hours hoping to shoot some good stuff when I heard an announcement:
"Ladies and gentlemen, in 5 mins time we will be featuring the Zingo Festival Drum group.!"

I realized it was coming from the Read Bridge so I Hurriedly went there and climbed the bridge wall just in front of the stage to get glimpse of the show. It was my first quick shoot session using a DSLR. ..

ang daming temptasyon.. mga tsinelas na cute, bag, accessories at makukulay na lingerie.. buti nalang hindi ako maluho at bibili lang talaga ako ng kailangan kaya dumeretso nalang ako sa national bookstore. kailangan ko na kasi ng bagong set ng bond papers dahil naubos ko na yung binili kong ISANG REAM kakaprint ng time-saver ebook na 1,184 pages.. sa opisina

nagutom ako.. tutungo na sana ako sa may ilalim ng MRT station para magmeryenda ng kwek kwek at gulaman.. nang mapadaan ako sa mcdonalds at tumambad sakin ang isang malaking poster na nagsasabing.. "twister fries is back!" Grabe... ang pinakapaborito ko sa buong mundo.. (dreamy) ilang taon ko siyang inabangan magbalik.. ewan ko ba kung bakit limited ito.. siguro nahihirapan silang mag produce ng maraming kulot na patatas. kaya't dali dali akong umorder at kumain ng nakangiti hanggang sa pagtulog nakangiti hahaha.. twister fries made my day.. hay.. ang babaw ko talaga..
