Re: Bathroom
1/64 is overkill...buti na lang di pa 4/64 yan hehehe.
You can achieve nice glossy reflections using A&D materials by
increasing your glossy samples on reflections but do check "fast (interpolate)" and set material renderings at "same as rendering" at the fast glossy interpolation rollout.
also, if you use mr skyportals, add an Architectural: Environment portal in the
light shader. this will optimize your renderings and glossy reflections. without this shader, your glossy reflections especially near bright windows will still be grainy even at high AA samples and glossy reflection samples.
hope this helps!
usually I render at 1/16 or 1/4 depending on the amount of glossy reflection I have on scene. remember if you have 8 glssy samples in your materials and set to same as rendering, the renderer will use 8 AA samples if you set it to 1/1. But if you set it to 1/64, the renderer will compute 8x64 samples on areas where more samples are needed. Thus very LLOOOONG RENDERTIMES!

Re: Bathroom
one of many "hidden" shaders of mr. You have to unlock those by editing your
MI files in the include folder within mental ray folder. I forgot which one and how but im sure google can find it. be sure to make a backup!

Re: Bathroom
you have the very good sence in designing...but, maintenance wise, mahirap linisin ang ganyang bato sa wall mo para sa isang banyo and you have to consider that as well......
