Re: Atrium Daylight
Natural lighting is a good idea but the absence of ambient light bouncing around, does not give the structure it's supposed charm. Right now, it looks too bland and sorry, quite unnatural.
I tried to spice it up via levels, bloom and a little bit of a warm tone.
and if you'd need the PS cs3 file:

This is a clear example of knowing the rules (natural lighting) then breaking them (levels up for emphasis)

Re: Atrium Daylight
Also remember that when reflective objects turn dark due to the absence of illumination, whether natural or artificial - the reflections tend to appear more defined.
Re: Atrium Daylight

Re: Atrium Daylight
I already posted my suggestions above, if you refer to my own rendering, well no I do not render architectural stuff.
If you want more examples you could try googling for images, have you tried it?

Re: Atrium Daylight
The basic premise is that your rendering is fine in itself. It tells a lot about where the light is coming from, and it's coming yes right from above.
The only problem I see, which I already illustrated in my unsolicited adjustments to your image, is the balance of the dark and the light tones. If we have RGB255 to be the brightest and RGB000 as the darkest in any image, IMHO yours stand to be along the lines of RGB220-240 in the bright scale. If that is the case, then you have quite a lot of hues lost in the greys. That's Sayang. And that's where the cloudy, low contrast look ala poor LWF comes from.
I only use my own eyes via the monitor it is being displayed now (if that matters)
So what happens when you extend the scales so that you have 000 to 255? Then you have a good contrast. That is what I did (even minus the blooms) via curves. Yours is already good but I feel it can be a lot better with minor adjustments to the Contrast (Curves)
Would you still need to see an example?
