what will you do when your Rendering Progress dialog disappear?
sir/mam, i have encountered lately itong problem in max200964bit, wherein, yung rendering progress dialog window disappears, bago ito nawala, what i did is i changed my monitor, then when i put back the old monitor, when im doing my renders, napansin kong nawawala na yung rendering progress dialog window, this means hindi ko ma cancel yung test render.
How can i show again yung dialog box na iyon?
nadaanan ko itong solution na ito http://www.kxcad.net/autodesk/3ds_max/Autodesk_3ds_Max_9_Reference/user_interface_problems_and_recovery.html, but i cant find the 3dmax.ini file?
help po please...

it seems that the progress dialog window was moved outside the screen... if so. right click sa taskbar and hit cascade windows

Re: what will you do when your Rendering Progress dialog disappear?
okay the last resort is to edit your 3dmax.ini file
- i assumed you are using the latest version: it is found on
C:\Users\ronel\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsmax\2009 - 32bit\enu\3dsmax.ini
just check the colored highlighted text ( not sure if you are using 2009 or 32 bit)
Copied and Paste here the direction in editing your max.ini file:
1. Make sure 3ds Max is not running. The 3dsmax.ini file is constantly being updated while 3ds Max is running.
2. Open a text editor and load 3dsmax.ini.
3. Scroll down the list of entries until you find the data block:
[RenderProgressDialogPosition]
Dimension=-425 152 379 866
4. A dialog's position is based off the location of the upper-left corner, anchored by the first pair of digits. Therefore, in this example, the upper-left corner of the dialog is -425 pixels from the left edge of the screen and 152 pixels from the top. The second pair of digits describe the horizontal and vertical size of the dialog, so this dialog is 379 pixels wide and 866 pixels tall.
5. Since this example assumes a single monitor, configured for 1280x1024 resolution, this dialog is off-screen to the left. If the first number were greater than 1280, the dialog would be off-screen to the right.
6. Place your cursor on the “Dimension” line and scroll over to the problem number.
The problem number is usually the first or second, since the last two set the width and height of the dialog. Change the problem number to a value that is positive and within 1280x1024.
7. Save the 3dsmax.ini file and start 3ds Max.

Re: what will you do when your Rendering Progress dialog disappear?
Follow up to this problem and it really works. Ive encountered din sa ganitong problema. What I do is I go to root directory of max.ini file then I deleted it. Then start the 3dmax program nag try ako mag render ayun lumabas na. Maybe the file was just corrupted kasi everytime mag startup ka ng 3dmax program lagi kasing mag a update yang max.ini file na yan. So no need to worry why you deleted it kasi mag replace yung 3dmax mismo ng bago. Nabasa ko lang din tong solution na to sa internet. Hope makatulong sa mga cgp na may probleman nito. Cheers!
