How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map - Page 3 Empty How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map

Post by Norman Thu Apr 22, 2010 8:51 am

First topic message reminder :

STEP 1: TEST RENDER > SAVE(light cache, irradiance map)
STEP 2: LOAD SAVED(light cache, irradiance map) > FINAL RENDER

ganito po yung procedure

after natin ma-set yung desired lighting, ambiance, environment sa scene natin tapos ready na tayo magpa-final output.

STEP 1: TEST RENDER
set natin yung vray sa pinaka simple settings like, image sampling(anti aliasing)
How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map - Page 3 LC03
image sampler: FIXED
anti aliasing filter: OFF

tapos sa irradiance map ang light cache
How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map - Page 3 LC04-1
1. current preset > very low

STEP 2: LOAD SAVED(light cache, irradiance map)
once natapos yung rendering ese-save na natin yung mga light cache and irradiance map.

irradiance map
How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map - Page 3 LC01
1. click "save to file". the file should be .vrmap
2. change "single frame" to "from file"
3. "browse" the .vrmap you have created

How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map - Page 3 LC02jpg
samething with light cache
1. click "save to file". the file should be .vrlmap
2. change "single frame" to "from file"
3. "browse" the .vrlmap you have created

Very Happy

Hmmm... Ask lang po... Di po ba sa set na ito wala ng kwenta yang nakalagay na "high" sa final render dahil ang IRR map ay kukuhanin na ng vray from the saved file which is set at "low" at hindi na nga magcocompute mg panibagong map which is evident when we hit render straight na into rendering wala ng passes?...

What I do; i compute my final IRR map set at "high" but on a smaller reso, say 666 X ... I save that then set my reso to my desired units say 1600 X ... This way its loads up a saved "high" IRR map rather than a "low" one irregardless of reso?... This way we save precious time?...

Dunno if my workflow makes any sense...

tama yung sabi ni sir cloud na since na compute na pre-calculated na yung maps specially yung irradiance maps, di na rin naman gagamitin ng vray yung option na "high" sa preset in final render, since na compute na nga sya from low reso di ba. ang question ngayon is kung dapat bang naka set na "high" na yung preset when doing the low reso?

i tried a little experiment: I made a scene with just single vray light.

first step: na ginawa ko is nag pre-calculate ako ng irradiance maps and Light cache maps. one in "low" and one in "high" preset. and syempre naka off yung anti-aliasing ko. tapos yung image sampler naka "fixed" lang.

second step: since nakuha ko na yung both low and high setting ko ng IR and LC maps. tinaasan ko na yung mga value ng dapat kong taasan image sampler ko "adaptive subdivision", antialiasing ko is "catmull-ROM". on ko na rin ung ambient occlusion pass. tapos sa built-in preset ng irradiance maps naka set lang ng "low".

this is what i got. from save na IR and LC maps in "low preset setting"

in "high preset setting"
How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map - Page 3 High800

blow up:
How to save V-ray light cache and irradiance map - Page 3 Test

halos walang difference ang final render. so I prefer na when doing the pre calculated IR and LC maps, a "low" setting in preset will do the job, so samething din sa "high preset" pareho lang ng quality. correct me kung may na miss ako sa experiment.....

Walang pinag iba sir F-Fortune este Fortyone (sorry couldnt resist hehehehe sino nga ba yun heheheehe) neh?... Hmmmmmm...
