Command:EXTRIM
To see this command in action, draw a rectangle with LOTS of lines going through it. Then type EXTRIM and select the rectangle. You are then prompted to “specify the side to trim on: “. If you pick outside the box, it trims everything crossing the box around the outside and you are left with just the lines in the middle. If you select inside the box, it trims all the lines inside the rectangle and leaves the lines on the outside. Sounds a little confusing? Give it a try and it will make perfect sense.

hindi po ser boks... im using autodesk architecture 2k8... baka dito lang sya gumagana... dont know sa autocad

EXTRIM works perfectly in CAD 2006.

VTDURATION.
Pansin natin na sa AutoCAD 2006 pataas, pag nag zoom in ka or zoom out, may visual effect na siya. Parang na zo-zoom in or out na yung object at a certain speed. If you want AutoCAD's zoom function to work just like in AutoCAD 2005 and lower versions just type:
VTDURATION
change the default value to Zero.

When you insert an image, it has a frame around it so you can select it. When you go to plot your drawing, if you do not want to see the frame, simply type the command “IMAGEFRAME” to set its visibility as follows:
Setting 0 - Image frames are NOT displayed and NOT plotted
Setting 1 - Image frames are BOTH displayed and plotted (default).
Setting 2 - Image frames are displayed but NOT plotted

Command: OVERKILL
My theory is that programmers at Autodesk in charge of the Express Tools might be spending late hours of intense gaming. How else could they end up with a command called OVERKILL?!! and how about having a setting called “Numeric Fuzz”??? what the ****!
OVERKILL is actually a pretty awesome tool for cleaning up a drawing. It’s one of the Express Tools, although you won’t see it listed by that name in the pull-down menus. It’s found by selecting “Express Tools” then “Modify” and then “delete duplicate objects”. The purpose of OVERKILL is to find duplicate and overlapping objects and combine them into one nice, neat object.
In the dialogue box you can control if it ignores objects with different properties. And then there’s Numeric Fuzz. What kind of name is that? Numeric Fuzz controls how wild and crazy the command reacts. If set to “0″, the objects must match exactly before one of them gets modified or deleted.
For example: two circles lie almost directly on top of each other; the radius of one circle is 0.00001 smaller than the other one. If the fuzz value is set to “0″, OVERKILL considers the two circles to be unique and does not modify or delete either of them. However, if the fuzz value is set to 0.00001 or higher, OVERKILL considers the circles to be equal and deletes one of them.
Give it a try. Start by randomly drawing some overlapping objects and watch the command “Kill” them. It’s pretty cool. Once you have a feel for how it works, use it on some drawings that need some cleaning up. It’s also a great way to join different lines that butt together or to remove a bunch of individual segments from a straight line PLINE.
So get “jacked-up” on coffee or Red Bull, crank up the music and start doing some OVERKILL-ing!

Question lng po sir oRangE.n.GreeN.... Sometimes kasi, layers or objects overlaying with each other are on different layers. When using overkill can I specify which layer is to be deleted and which layer is to keep?
