Simple Scene (Updated w/ VRAO & Vol. Light)
First topic message reminder :
still dont have actual project kaya praktis lang ulit.. just a simple scene study with MRAO... quite happy with the result, it created a big difference on a plain vray rendered scene... MRAO adds depth also and graininess w/c can be seen in real life... credit goes to destijl-art and to bokkins... thanks for viewing guys.. and also c&C's for better improvement...

Re: Simple Scene (Updated w/ VRAO & Vol. Light)
Vray AO is nothing but... dirt. It simply add dirt to the crevices of your objects.
This is similar to setting the detail enhacement option in vray except that the latter is added during rendertime.
AO is used as a pass for compositing so that there will be enhanced soft shadow-like tones in the contact areas of your objects like floors and corners and even cg armpits...
Don't be afraid to use vray's dirtmap to composite your dirt/fake softshadows and your normal diffuse maps... Sometimes you can do away with completely doing GI on your scenes by nesting the diffuse maps on the unoccluded color slot or by using a mix map with the dirtmap as a mask... Of course you will miss the indirect illumination courtesy of GI but who if you are persistent - who cares anyway..
