hi pangahas thanks for the link to your sb.. you've got some nice work here.. you've got some very good rendering skills! it's nice to see that you're doing black & white studies, kasi that will really help sharpen your perception of values before having to deal with color relationships.

you mentioned na you're focusing on 3d muna, but if you ever feel like working on your 2d, i would suggest na you keep learning about how to control your values, kasi crucial naman yun sa composition regardless of media. the principles of aesthetics remain the same naman over various media eh.. whatever you learn in 2d you can also apply in 3d, webdesign, photography etc. and vice versa.

a few years ago nasira yung graphire3 ko, di rin ako makagawa ng digital but what i did instead of buying a cheaper tablet was i saved up the money & focused on doing traditional work + studies instead. by the time na may pera na ko for a graphire 4, i also had months' worth of pencil & gouache training to support my learning of digital painting. i think it was a better investment, kasi i've also tried the genius pen tablet na rin and parang mas ok pa rin sa kin yung performance ng wacom (pero my boyfriend uses genius just fine, so baka difference lang din talaga sa light or heavy handedness). in that way, naging positive yung effect sa work ko ng pagkawala ng tablet, kasi napilitan talaga ko pukpukin yung pencil work ko, which otherwise malamang kinatamaran ko hehe..

basta ayun, try to build up a good foundation. kasi humans are very accustomed to reading form kaya even the smallest thing that's off can distract the viewer from the concept (not everyone will be able to tell what's off but they'll know that something's off).. sayang naman yung concepts mo magaganda pa naman. cge magdrop by nalang ulit ako dito from time to time, hope you keep posting more work! i wish you all the best in both your 2d & 3d endeavors kapatid

AnneBallaran-Thanks sa pagdaan..Yeah laking tulong nga kapag grayscale muna ako instead of gaya dati na rekta kulay kagad gaya ng sabi mo nga important talaga yung values. Sa ngaun nagiipon nako to buy a new tablet kaso kulang pa, natetempt ako na bumili nung cdrking muna kaso naisip ko in the long run mas ok na kung wacom na so konting tiis pa muna habang wala pa 3d muna ako. I also do pencil sketches tapos i wawash ko ng watercolor kaso wala naman ako scanner para makulayan ko digitally kaya minsan nakakatamadan ko naden magtraditional pero once in a while nagsksketch paden naman ako, iba paden kasi pag yung traditional, kung iisipin nakakamiss den talaga dati kasi nung nasira PC talgang puro pencil at paper lang ako. Yup sarap pagexperementuhan ng shapes sa alchemy, yung sa zbrush na ganun hindi ko pa siya alam

After a series of hd crashes and losing all of my files I'm back to zero.
