D90 top LCD CRACKED!!

just my luck - dropped my D90 and one good bump damaged my top LCD and now the liquid has spilled with a major crack in the LCD (this is the status LCD not the main one). any idea as to how much it might cost..? good thing merong INFO button so I can still view the settings in the main LCD panel, but now it has a scar on top - wondering if I should just cover it with some sticker or have it replaced/repaired?

could be a good time to invest on another unit.. but then that would be impulsive buying - not good in these times of recession.. waaaah

i feel sorry for you bro! but having a reason to upgrade is good =) better have it checked in NSC for a quote, i'm not sure roughly how much it's gonna cost. i dropped mine once too but luckily not a single mark. even the tamron lense survived without any mark (which i manage to sell off for a good price =).

ouch tlaga - S$120 to repair + the top LCD (which is around S$20 in raon :p)

@jeff - fell from the table - it was inside the bag. my guess is tumama sa lcd cover ung external flash, distinct ung crack kasi.

resolved. it's S$50 for the LCD part - the S$120 service fee was waived due to my awesomeness ehe kidding, ok lang daw kahit kasalanan ko basta under warranty pa din :p

last month my bag w/ d700 in it dropped as i stepped out of a cab (rushing to follow my son who alighted first). thankfully only the hotshoe got damaged (warped) which was gladly replaced by NCS, FOC since it's still under warranty. i only paid $10.70 for the parts.

funny thing when i send it to NCS it has my 17-35 mounted. the lady brought in the camera and later was told there are two items. apart from the hotshoe they recommended to replace my 17-35's silent wave motor as it was 'squeaking, it will set me back by $270. i said no thanks, rotated the focus ring a few times and said, "look, no more squeeking (wink)!"

congrats, superb talaga service ng NSC. linggo linggo ako nagpapalinis ng sensor dyan nung under warranty pa, foc

yes the NSC guys were wonderful. definitely a factor for considering a brand - the service.

btw thanks tutik for the info on the sb-600.. i finally got it. looks ok for a 2nd hand unit. will do some tests with it.
